RMR GLENWOOD SPRINGS TOUR

This 3-day RMR/PCA scenic driving tour will travel over 500 miles of Colorado's scenic and curving mountain roads, twice over 12,000 foot elevations crossing the Continental Divide at Cottonwood Pass and Milner Pass in Rocky Mountain National Park, as well as over a half-dozen other mountain passes, along rivers, through high mountains and towns.  Along the way, you will enjoy the company of other friendly Porsche Club enthusiasts and our fine venue hosts.                                                                                                                                                                                                                                    

Beginning on Friday morning August 2nd. near Morrison, you will travel US 285 through Fairplay to Buena Vista, then across Cottonwood Pass (west side is newly paved) and along the Taylor River Road.  The main run group will have lunch (on your own) in Gunnison.  Then proceed on US 50 and Hwy. 92 to Crawford and Hotchkiss.  Then Hwy. 133 over McClure Pass to Redstone.  A special run group for Cayennes and Macans will have lunch (on your own) in Crested Buttte.  Then traverse unpaved Kebler Pass Road with a side visit to Beautiful Lake Irwin.  They then rejoin the main run group along Hwy. 133 at Paonia Reservoir.  At Redstone you will have a special tour of the historic "Redstone Castle" on Friday afternoon.  After the Castle tour you will proceed on through Carbondale to Hwy   82 toward Glenwood Springs.  We will spend two nights at our host hotel, The Residence Inn by Marriott. Relax after arrival with a happy hour Welcome Reception adjacent the hotel.  Dinner will be on your own at any one of the nearby restaurants.                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                      

Saturday will be a relaxing "drivers' and navigators' day off' allowing plenty of time on your own to bask in the Glenwood Hot Springs pools or the Iron Mountain Hot Springs pools.  You might want to visit the Glenwood Caverns Adventure Park, visit some of the other attractions or just walk around the town. At the end of Saturday's activities, return to the hotel for a celebratory catered Banquet dinner party adjacent to the hotel.                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                               

On Sunday, the scenic driving tour resumes after breakfast for the return drive that will take you through impressive Glenwood Canyon.  Then traversing Hwy. 133 and Hwy. 134 over Gore Pass to US 40 and along the Colorado River.  You will go through Kremmling and Granby to US 34 to Grand Lake, where there will be a group BBQ Luncheon.  After lunch you will drive the the 53 mile Trail Ridge Road and tour Rocky Mountain National Park.  The tour will end in downtown Estes Park on Sunday afternoon.  You may explore Estes Park at your leisure and/or return back home, via US 34, US 36 or Hwy. 7

The Residence Inn by Marriott's phone number for lodging reservations is 970-928-0900 and registrants should identify that they are for the "Rocky Mountain Porsche Club Summer Meeting" to obtain the group rate for a studio room.  The rate is $164. plus tax per night.  You will need to make your reservation for Friday, August 2 and Saturday, August 3, 2019. It is recommended to book lodging reservations immediately after completing registration.  All registration and lodging reservations must be made by July 10, 2019.  

Once your lodging reservations are made there will be NO REFUND for the first night's lodging in case of cancellation up to July 10.  After July 10, there will be NO REFUND of the event registration fee or the second night's lodging.
