You're invited to join us for the Hoosier Chapter's Rites o’ June Driver's School at Putnam Park Road Course (our 25th year hosting a school). The school will be held the weekend of June 11-12, 2016, with optional Instructor/Advanced Student familiarization on Friday 10th. Putnam Park is near Cloverdale, IN, exit 41 from
I-70 west of Indianapolis.

For Advanced level students
You'll get plenty of track time with enhanced passing rules, plus classroom activities tailored to advanced driving techniques and topics. Advanced students may also apply to drive on Friday June 10th (extra cost).

A-Solo (no instructor) is an option for approved students only – ask for it. (your info needs to be current on MSR - plenty of Putnam Park time is required).

Are you new to Driver Schools?
The Driver School's mission is to teach advanced driving skills and habits in the controlled environment of a closed course — and for everyone to have fun while doing it. You'll have an assigned instructor with you in your car for the whole weekend while you put into practice the advanced techniques you learn during the classroom sessions. We divide students into groups based on track driving experience, so if you're new to this you'll be sharing the experience with other novices.

Although we hold the school on a closed track, this is not a race or any form of competitive or timed event. Safety is our primary concern — for the protection of all our participants, anything even resembling racing or unsafe behavior will be grounds for immediate exclusion.

Who can attend?
Students need to be 18 years or older, have a currently valid driver's license and be members of the BMW CCA (or immediate family of a member). If you have other friends that would like to participate, they'll need to sign up as members.

What about the car?
You'll be driving your own car. You don't have to drive a BMW — we have students in Hondas, Porsches, Infinitis, Corvettes and other kinds of cars. But we are the BMW Club, so of course we think that BMWs are best! And by the way, that includes Minis.

We do not accept convertibles, including hard-top or retracting metal roof models. SUVs, trucks or vans aren't generally suited for this type of activity.

How much does this cost, and what's included?
$425 student fee for Saturday and Sunday. (We also accept single day students for either day at a reduced fee.)

This covers two days of in-car and supporting classroom instruction by our skilled and experienced personnel. Since dining opportunities in the area are limited, we hold a Saturday night banquet at an additional cost of $10 per person if you choose to attend (guests welcome). Other than the banquet you'll be responsible for your own meals, as well as for your motel room.

Friday is $125 additional with a Saturday and Sunday registration requirement. You must be approved (instructor or an approved A student) for Friday by the event host.

Putnam Park Road Course now has very nice garages with electric power, ceiling fans and welcome shade. Each stall offers ample space for your car and your gear. Garages are rented on a first come, first serve basis with payment. Email the registrar for a garage spot and pay separately by check.  $135 per car for the entire weekend.

Sounds great—how do I sign up?
Right here at Motorsportreg.com, which allows you both to fill out your registration information and to make convenient and secure payment by credit card, all in a few simple steps.

We accept entries on a first come, first served basis.

How do I know I’ve been accepted to the school?
We’ll send you an email when you’ve been accepted. Note that acceptance in the Driver's School can not be confirmed until your payment has been received and your student application reviewed.
