About this event
It's time to get the season started, Reno style. We start with our excellent Solo School, where you can let it all hang out without fear of bending expensive sheet metal! Here's a summary of the day's events:
Morning: There will be a mix of classroom and driving events throughout the morning. Students will go to the classroom first, for instruction about how to participate in autocross events, some tips and such, and then instructors will be available to ride with students and provide feedback. Format is slightly different this year, with a full autocross course available all day.
Afternoon: We'll run a simulated autocross event with timing active. Instructors will be available for rides. Each car will have many chances through the course. The participants will be split up into run and work sessions.
Cost for all this is still a reasonable (cheap?) $30. You must be an SCCA member to participate (for insurance purposes), so a weekend membership is available for an additional $15. If you join SCCA for the year, that $15 will be credited to the yearly membership cost (which is $75 total).
New for this year! Online registration is $30 this year, if you wait to register at the event the price goes up to $35. Currently at the event registration is CASH ONLY.
Online registration will close at or around 9PM the day prior to the event.
Come out and join the fun, Biggest Little City style.
Directions to the Reno/Stead Airport site: From Reno take US Hwy 395 North toward Susanville to the Stead Blvd Exit, go East on Stead (right). Continue on Stead Blvd until you come to a "Y" intersection, remain in the right lane and proceed on Mt Vida toward the airport tower. Once though the airport gates turn left on Alpha and immediately right on Petriciani and through the gate, head for the grandstands on your left and look for the Registration and Tech areas.
Event requirements
Tech and registration will open at 8:00 AM, mandatory driver's meetings no earlier than 8:45 AM.
Bring a Snell 2005 or newer helmet if you have one. The club has helmets available to borrow if you don't have one.
Your car should be clean inside, no loose items that can move around during driving maneuvers. Good condition seat belts. That's about it. This isn't about who has the best car, it's about driving the one you have.
