Welcome to round 3 of the 2013 Reno SCCA Time Trials season, a combined Performance Driving eXperience  / Club Trials / Track Trials Event / Alternative Driver School / and INAUGURAL Club Race Experience on the road course at Reno-Fernley Raceway    

Performance Driving eXperience (PDX) - Not Included In This Event!

Club Trials is a timed competition for fastest lap, open to almost all street-licensed cars and those prepared to Solo Street Prepared or Street Mod or Race prepared to Improved Touring specifications. Open top automobiles must have removable factory hardtop installed, factory rollover protection or an SCCA Time Trials approved rollbar.

All participants shall wear shoes which fully cover the foot at least up to the ankle.  Helmets are required while on course and must meet current or two immediately preceding Snell Foundation standards (SA2010, SAH2010, SA2005, SA2000, M2010, M2005, M2000, K2010, K2005, K98.  SFI standards 31.1, 41.1, 31.1A, 31.2A, 41.1A, 41.2A or British spec BS6658-85 type A/FR are acceptable.  

Track Trials is a timed competition for fastest lap, open to all cars prepared to Time Trials Level 3/4 or full race preparation. Full safety gear required including fire suit and race spec helmet are required.

Club Race Experience  is "wheel to wheel ' racing in a controlled environment with NO RACING LICENSE REQUIRED? This is a low risk "racing experience" that provides an instructional environment to experience and learn about wheel to wheel racing in an easy to access format. 

Cars should meet SCCA Improved Touring, B-Spec, Spec Miata or SRF specifications and driver safety equipment. Contact Dave Deborde, d_deborde@charter.net or (775) 450-1394 for additional requirements if your car exeeds these classifications.

All vehicles must meet the safety and equipment requirements of the SCCA General Competition Rules GCR 9.3 except: 9.3.19.G all driver restraint systems shall have been certified under one of the following: SFI specifications 16.1 or 16.5; or FIA specifications 8853/98 or 8854/98 and be in good condition with no signs of wear or fading. Time limits do not apply and GCR 9.3.20.C the use of a head and neck restraint system that has been certified in accordance with SFI 38.1, FIA 8858-2002 or 8859-2010 is highly reccomended but not required; GCR 9.3.29 Car numbers are required on both sides of the vehicle but class identification and Club Racing logos are optional; GCR 9.3.54 Window Safety Nets may be replaced by arm restraints in enclosed cars. All vehicles must meet the safety and equipment requirements of GCR 9.4. "roll cages for GT and Production based cars"; or APPENDIX I, "2007 Cage Rules"; or APPENDIX J, "2004 Cage Rules".

On track behavior will be in the spirit of GCR section 6.11 "Rules of the Road". Any participant found to be overaggressive or dangerous may be black flagged and counseled by the Chief Instructor or his designee and may be excluded from the event. At a minimum, any participant being found at fault in an accident will be putn probation for a recommended 13 months.  

CRE drivers will be required to participate in either Club Trials or Track Trials for observation before being allowed in the race. CT or TT entry is included in the entry fee.  A transponder is required for the CRX and CT/TT sessions.

ALL CARS MUST PASS SAFETY INSPECTION. 

Approved helmets required, limited loaners available.

SCCA membership required; weekend memberships available on site for $15.

Entry Fees:

Club Trials/Track Trials only                 $175

Club Racing Experience Inc CT or TT  $200                                  

Late Fee, Add $25 (Walk-ons and drivers registering after noon the preceeding Friday)

Transponders are available ($25 rental fee) at Reno-Fernley Raceway events 

 

Registration and Tech Inspection open at 7:30 a.m. 

Reno-Fernley Raceway is located five miles south of Fernley NV on U.S. Hwy Alt-95.

Notice: Transponders are required for all Club or Track Trials competitors wishing to have timed results or to compete for region championship points. Transponders are available on a first come, first served basis for a rental fee of $25.
