Potomac's Independence Day Wine & Pie Tour

Back by popular demand, we will be conducting our second annual 4^th of July Wine & Pie drive only this year we won’t have an off-road portion on our drive to the Winery (don’t ask). So let’s once again do something really fun and different for the 4^th of July! What could be more American than apple pie (or blueberry pie for that matter) and some libations to celebrate the birth of our nation? We will start the day by meeting at the Manassas Battlefield Visitor’s Center at 10:30am. Our fun back-country drive will be led by Alex Lunsford through via the most scenic route to 8 Chains North Winery (http://www.8chainsnorth.com/) in Waterford Virginia. The winery will feature live music from 12:00pm to 2:00pm. Here you will relax and enjoy the company of your Porsche friends while also having the option to enjoy a scrumptious piece of pie from their selection of Mom’s Apple Pie (check out their pie selection at http://www.momsapplepieco.com/) that Southern Living claims is one of “The South’s Best Pies” along with the opportunity to sample some of the area’s best wines. My personal favorite is Mom’s apple pie with pecan crumble crust – divine beyond description!! You may also want to try delicious pairings of pie and wine that includes a bonus free souvenir wine glass for PCA members. New for this year will be pie samplings which will provide the designated drivers something delicious to sample. Some of you may not be happy with just a slice of pie and a glass of wine in which case you may reserve a whole pie in advance while bottles and cases of wine are available at the winery without advance reservation. You may reserve your whole pie by calling Krista Hawk at 571 439-2255 before 5:00pm on July 1^st to assure that Mom has time to bake your pie and deliver it to the winery. This will be a great event for the whole family!
