Vintage racing’s promise is to resurrect the past glories of sports car racing for a modern audience, and no event does that better than the Classic Motorsports Mitty.

BMW will be the featured marque when the Mitty returns to the beautiful Road Atlanta circuit in Braselton, Georgia on April 24-26, 2015. BMW has had a long and storied history in motorsports, and many of these classic race cars will be on display and on track at the Mitty. You may see BMWs from the '70s such as the “Batmobile” BMW 3.0 CSL or a 320i Turbo. Or you might see an '80s BMW M1 Group 4 car, a March GTP racer or the Warsteiner M3.

Off the track, the infield will be buzzing with activity thanks to the Grassroots Motorsports Speedfest at the Classic Motorsports Mitty. Spectators will enjoy car corrals, vendors and an expansive hospitality tent, all while surrounded by the buzzing excitement of HSR-sanctioned historic racing activities that will see over 300 cars competing throughout the weekend.

This year, The Mitty will celebrate racing legend Boris Said when it returns to Road Atlanta on April 24-26, 2015.

Although he is now a well-known NASCAR driver with his own hardcore fans (known as “Said Heads”), Boris Said’s roots—and his reputation as a “road course ringer”—lie in road racing, where he learned his craft and was most successful behind the wheel of some of BMW’s finest race cars. He will again be paired with BMW at The Mitty, as the brand will be the featured marque for 2015.

Said made his IMSA debut in 1993 driving a BMW M3, and won the Rolex 24 at Daytona and the 12 Hours of Sebring competing in that series. He was also the first American to win the 24 Hours Nürburgring, an honor he claimed while driving a BMW Motorsport-entered BMW M3 GTR in 2005. He still competes in both the IMSA and NASCAR series; less well known is the fact that he is also the president of BMW of Murrieta (California), which received the 2014 BMWCenter of Excellence Award and is ranked number one in the nation.

Boris will be signing autographs and meeting with fans Saturday afternoon at the Classic Motorsports tent in the Speedfest vendor midway located in Road Atlanta’s infield; he will also participate in a fan forum there on Saturday evening. Don’t miss this chance to hang out with Boris in an intimate setting and hear colorful stories from his racing career.

So whether you’re a BMW fan or just a sports car enthusiast in general, you’ll want to make plans now to attend the 2015 Classic Motorsports Mitty. Mark your calendars for April 24–26, 2015 at Road Atlanta in Braselton, Georgia and plan to load up your BMW – or other favorite sports car – and come be a part of one of the largest vintage motorsports gatherings in the country.
