About this event
PCA - Potomac's Autocross Event #4
PorscheFest
Summit Point Motorsports Park - Jefferson Circuit
sponsored by Intersport
This is our special "all things Porsche" event that is held along with a full 3 day Driver Education event on the main track at Summit Point. This registration is for individuals who will only be participating in the Autocross, DE registration should be done via the DE event registration. This event will be set up on an actual track by placing cones for the drivers to navigate. One driver at a time negotiates a course laid out with the cones, or pylons, testing their skill against the clock. Time penalties are charged for disturbing cones, and the penalty is 2 seconds per cone. A driver is awarded the best time of all runs taken.
In addition, you are welcome to join the special BBQ dinner after the main track goes cold for a reduced cost of just $25 per adult and $10 for children under 15.
Autocross is an inexpensive, safe way to experience performance driving. It helps you discover your car's capabilities and limitations, making you a better, safer driver on the road. And it develops your own driving ability. Many would-be race drivers use it as a jump point into the sport of road racing. But probably the greatest thrill of autocross is the challenge of beating your own time. It's fun!

You will be required to sign a waiver at the event site.
Helmets: We require any helmet with a Snell 2015/2010/2005 SA (Special Applications) sticker. A helmet of the same years with an M (Motorcycle) sticker is also acceptable. The helmet can be full face, open face, or open with a chin guard. The helmet is supposed to be rated for multiple impacts and also should have a fireproof liner.
Pay special attention to fit. The helmet should not be so tight it brings on headache, but it should not rattle, either. Put it on and shake your head. Your skin should travel with the helmet. The idea is that your head does not get a running start before hitting the padding.
Do note that we do provide a number of FREE LOANER HELMETS supplied by OG Racing at our events, for those folks that haven't commited to purchasing a helmet of their own. OG Racing also has a helmet rental program where the rental cost can later be applied towards purchase of a helmet.
Tech Inspection: Tech Inspections at autocross events, including the Autocross School, will be conducted on-site during the morning of each event. Autocross Tech Inspections will be checking the basic safety condition of your car; insuring tires are not excessively worn, no evidence of leaking fluids, proper brakes operation, etc.
