PCA Potomac 2018 Autocross School
Are you interested in learning about Autocross? Come join us at the Washington Circuit of Summit Point Raceway to learn the skills you'll use to succeed at your first Autocross, discover your car's capabilities and limitations, and develop your driving skills.
The event is open to any driver, providing they have a car that will pass tech inspection. New Autocross drivers and PCA Potomac members will be given registration preference. Due to the format of the school, each participant must have his or her own car to drive.
Only 42 spots are available, so register today! The registration fee of $115 includes breakfast and lunch. Beverages and snacks will be available throughout the day.
Registration will close on Friday, April 27, 2018 at 5 p.m.
Event requirements
PCA Potomac 2018 Autocross School
Anyone can participate and no prior experience is needed. Refer to our Rules and FAQ website pages for vehicle requirements. All drivers must be at least 16 years or older and have a current driver's license (no learners permits). Please see the Junior Participant Program section on the Policy page of our website for more information about the strict requirements for a 16 or 17-year-old to participate.
Registration Status: All registered drivers will be placed in "New" status. Notification of Confirmed or Waitlist status will be sent via email on Monday, April 9, 2018.
Waiver: You will be required to sign a waiver at the event site.
Helmets: You must use a helmet with a Snell 2010 or 2015 SA (Special Applications) or M (Motorcycle) sticker. The helmet can be full face, open face, or open with a chin guard. The helmet should be rated for multiple impacts and have a fireproof liner.
Pay special attention to fit. The helmet should not be so tight that it brings on a headache, but your head should not rattle within it either. The goal is to have a helmet that is snug enough to prevent your head from having a distance to travel before hitting the padding.
We do provide a limited number of FREE LOANER HELMETS supplied by OG Racing for those who haven't committed to purchasing a helmet. OG Racing also has a helmet rental program where the rental cost can later be applied towards the purchase of a helmet.
Tech Inspection: Tech inspections at autocross events will be conducted onsite at each event. We will be checking the basic safety condition of your car (e.g., tires are not excessively worn, no evidence of leaking fluids, brakes are operating properly, etc.).
Payments: The event registration fee will be charged to Confirmed drivers on Friday, April 13, 2018 at noon. Drivers placed on the MSR Waitlist will be notified if a spot becomes available. At that time, payment must be made as directed (often within 24 hours or less) to confirm the spot or it will be forfeited. Walk-Up Spots: No walk-up spots will be available for the school.
