Event requirements

Note:  INDE Motorsports Ranch policy is that non-members are only allowed 3 daily visits per 12 month period.  As a private club they always reserve the right to deny entry to anyone they believe is disrespectful, a nuisance, or for other reasons they deem necessary to remove them from the facilities.  INDE Motorsports Ranch Management has stated this policy will not affect PCA-SAR events.  If you have any questions about this policy please contact INDE Motorsports Ranch directly.

1. New Safety Equipment for 2019 PCA DE: Head and Neck Restraints Required for all Drivers and Passengers on Harness-equipped Vehicles

Note: This change has been dictated by a directive from PCA National for 2019.  Head & Neck Restraints are required for five or six-point harnesses.  Also, the same type of restraint system is required for both driver and passenger. Harnesses are required to be SFI or FIA approved for competition and mounted in the manufacturer approved configuration. Any harness approved for club racing is acceptable when installed according to the manufacturer’s instructions. Evidence of this approval shall be provided by the driver, if necessary.  If you are running stock/DOT approved 3 point restraint system (stock seat belts) additional head and neck restraints are not required.  SAR will not rent/provide head and neck restraint systems.  Participants must provide their own systems if required.

2. Required Vehicle Safety Equipment.

Vehicle safety requirements apply to both Porsche and non-Porsche cars alike.

Vehicle safety equipment is determined by the Make/Model and level of performance modifications.

Figuring it out has now been made so much easier with a spreadsheet.  http://zone8.pca.org/forms/2013/DE_TTSafetyEquipCalculator.xlsx

(If you get a "file in use" message, just click "read only")

Complete the spreadsheet, print it out and bring it with you.

Do not arrive without the appropriate safety equipment fitted to your car.

If you have any questions email autocross@pcasar.com

For full details and explanation see the Zone 8 Driver Education (DE) rules http://www.zone8.org/events/rules/current.php

Note: ALL CONVERTIBLES MUST HAVE A ROLLBAR TO PARTICIPATE, UNLESS TOURING LAPS.  Factory installed roll over protection is acceptable (example: Boxster). If you have questions please send an email to autocross@pcasar.com .

3. Required PCA-SAR Tech Inspection http://pcasar.com/Main/wp-content/uploads/2016/12/tech-form_2017.pdf

Complete the inspection yourself, if you are qualified and you have the appropriate equipment, or take your car to a shop.

We have two excellent shops in Tucson who will complete the inspection of your Porsche without charge: Radmacher Porsche and Autohaus Tucson. Big thanks to both Dave Radmacher and Marcus Wyatt.

Don't forget to bring the completed form with you.
