Our highly professional and safe track events ran annually for the past 16 years offer students the opportunity to be on track in a safe and controlled environment with a limited number of drivers.  Classroom sessions for all Students; optional for advanced drivers.

Tired of driving in large run groups?  Small student run groups.  Less than 20 students per Run Group!

For the Novice Driver Mid-Ohio provides the new driver with a broad platform for future driving experiences with its 13 turn track, elevation changes and variety of turns.  For those just starting out with track driving the NSXCA's professionally run safety conscious High Performance Driving Event provides a low-key supportive environment for learning High Performance Driving.  This innovative format allows you time to process what you learn in the morning and be prepared to use those new skills the next day on the track. Not an NSXCA member?  Doesn't matter.  Join the rest of us Tuesday afternoon at the Transportation Research Test Facility  for car control techniques and use of their Skid Car.  Monday and Tuesday evening we'll meet up for a self pay dinner.

You've thought and thought about driving on the track,
make this the year that you do it!

For the Experienced Driver Mid-Ohio is one of The Tracks to drive.  Three  ½-days of on track time allow you to learn a new track or polish your skills on one you know.  If your nearby, join us in the morning and pop back to the office in the afternoon.  Maybe they won't notice that you were gone!  Coming from afar?  Join the rest of us Tuesday afternoon at the Transportation Research Test Facility  for  car control techniques at the Vehicle Dynamics Area and use of their Skid Car.  Monday and Tuesday evening we'll meet up for a self pay dinner..  13 turns with names like Madness, the Carousel and Thunder Valley need to be experienced!  The NSXCA provides Instructors and classroom time for all students to help you get the most out of your track time allowing you to improve your performance.

NSXPO, the NSXCA's annual convention, has been hosting a track event in North America and Canada since 1998.  You do not need an NSX to join us though you'll have the unique opportunity to drive with quite a few on the track. Come join us.  NSXPO2014.com for tech forms, hotel and other information.

Event requirements

  • No Timing Equipment Allowed.  Our Insurance prohibits it.  Our insurance covers the NSXCA for liability.  You are not covered by this policy for collision.  You should check your own policy for exclusions. We strongly urge you to sign up for track insurance to cover you during the event.  You are responsible for your vehicle and that of anyone else involved with you in a collision at this event including any damage to the track or facilities.
  • You must have a valid Driver's License and be 18 years or older
  • Guest's that are 18 years or older are welcome though their names should be submitted to the registar at least 1 week prior to the track event.
  • No SUV's or Trucks.
  • Convertibles must have an approved roll bar that passes the broomstick test; 1" of space between the Helmet and the bottom of a broomstick when the broomstick is placed across the roll bar and the windshield.  Factory installed rollover protection, provided by rollbars in the S2000 and some Porsches, is acceptable.  If  you have any questions regarding the suitability of your vehicle please contact the registrar  prior to registering.  Due to insurance regulations we have a very strict policy on convertibles and they will not be allowed out on the track unless they meet the appropriate specifications. It is your responsible to verify that they do prior to registering.  Thank you!
  • A Technical Inspection Form signed by a licensed mechanic should be completed prior to your arrival at the track.  No tech inspections will be completed at the track.  Your car should be inspected no more than 4 weeks prior to the event.  Tech Forms are available at NSXPO2014.com.
  • SNELL Helmet, 2005-SA or 2010-SA certification.  We have a small number of loaner helmets that will be available for Drivers at the track.  We can't guarantee that we'll have your size, but please email the registrar if you are interested in using a loaner helmet.  SNELL 2005 Helmets are fairly reasonable right now and can also be used for carting.  By picking up a SNELL 2005 Helmet prior to the track event you'll have one less thing to worry about on track day and you'll be ready for next year too!
  • Equal safety provisions for driver and passenger for student and instructor cars. Example, if the drivers seat has a 6pt harness then the passenger seat must have the same.
  • Long sleeve shirts and pants required, closed toe shoes.
  • All student cars must have a passenger seat
  • The event will be held rain or shine.  The club may cancel or close down the event if the track or weather conditions pose an inordinate safety concern for the participants. The decision is that of the Chief Instructor's and Event Coordinator.

Registration and check in at the track will be the evening prior and the morning of the event.  There will be a driver's meeting the morning of the event that is mandatory.  Actual times will be posted on NSXPO2014.com closer to the event.

Bring your helmet to registration/check in

Students Run Groups - use the following guidelines when selecting your run group

Novice - 0-8 schools and or first time on this track

Intermediate - 8 or more schools and have previously achieved Intermediate or its equivilant by other clubs/programs.

Advanced/Open Track -  20 or more schools

Your run group preference will be evaluated by the Chief Instructor and may be changed based on their recommendations and or space available.  Please note that you need a recommendation from your last instructor to move up to the next run group.  If you would like to request an instructor please do so at the time of your registration and we will do our best to accomodate your request.

Instructors

A working Communicator is required.
A passenger seat is strongly preferred - part of your job as an instructor is to take your student(s) around the track in your vehicle to demonstrate some of the skills you are trying to teach them.
We sincerely appreciate and thank you for your participation!

All students and instructors should read their Information Packets thoroughly.  Most questions you may have will be answered in that packet.  Your information packet and tech inspection forms will be available on line at NSXPO2014.com closer to the event.  Be sure your email address in motorsport reg is correct.
