Event requirements
All Competitors should register online by the posted date and time, and must complete on-site check-in during the time period specified the Event Schedule. All competition vehicles must pass the safety technical inspection ("Tech") during the time period specified the Event Schedule. See the the SCCA Solo Rules for further information about rules and safety. Unfortunately, for safety reasons, Formula Junior Carts are not allowed to participate in Solo Trials Events.
A Solo Trials event is similar to a regular Solo or Autocross, except that speeds can be higher. Consequently, there are special restrictions, because of the increased risks. Vehicles are classed the same as for regular SCCA Solo. The event is in two parts, morning practice and afternoon timed runs. Three run groups of approximately 25 drivers will each have one hour of practice in the morning and one hour of timed runs in the afternoon. Your single best timed run will be your official competition time. Standings and trophies will be determined by PAX.
Here are some of the additional restrictions.
- Drivers must have a valid drivers license – a learners permit is not sufficient – and at least two years of recent solo competition experience.
- Drivers must wear 100% cotton outer wear that effectively covers completely from neck to ankles and wrists, and shoes that cover the entire foot.
- Open vehicles, including convertibles, must have a factory hard top or a roll bar or roll cage meeting current SCCA club racing requirements.
- Shifter karts are allowed. Junior karts are not allowed.
SCCA Solo Trials rules can be found in the SCCA official Solo Rules.
NRSCCA PAX Class Explanations
NRSCCA Offers entrants to run in SCCA Open Classes, or in one of the following PAX Classes:
Ladies PAX
Open to all ladies driving vehicles eligible for any open class. Open To: Ladies in All Open Classes. Displayed Car Class is Open Class+L (for example SSL, ASPL, SML, etc) or LDY.
Pro PAX
Designed for experienced drivers to compete against other experienced drivers across various classes. Open To: All Open Classes. Displayed Car Class is PRO.
Vehicles entered in one of the above PAX classes will run with the designated PAX class, and not with the open class. Cars running in the incorrect heat or with an incorrect class designation on their vehicles may not be scored at the discretion of the event staff. Please be aware of run orders. If there are any questions, please ask.
NRSCCA also offers a non-points, non-trophy novice class (NOV). This class is intended for new participants that don't necessarily feel they are ready for open class competition.
