About this event
Ever see a BMW battling it out with the Chevys and Fords of NASCAR? Me neither.
But while the Upstate is home to BMW’s largest factory, Performance Center and the BMWCCA/Foundation HQ, it is also close to the NASCAR Hall of Fame – just down the road from us in Charlotte.
And on April 22 we will be visiting said HOF for a day of interactive enjoyment. Sure, we’ll have a tour guide to show us the cars and stars that help make up the museum – but also a few other things to keep it interesting such as:
- Pit Crew Challenge – where we break up into groups and compete in pit crew activities (nobody has to mount tires)
- Racing Simulators – where each person races in a simulator against up to eight others on a NASCAR track. Like the Performance Center, except there’s only four turns…
- Scavenger Hunt – everybody gets a list of questions and artifacts to hunt while on tour.
And since we’ll be in Charlotte, might as well enjoy some German cuisine at the Waldhorn restaurant just down the road in Pineville.
Cost for the HOF is $35 per person.
Event requirements
So if you are interested, we will depart the Quaker Steak and Lube parking lot as a caravan at 9:30 Saturday April 22. The trip will NOT be just I85 – we will find some BMW –worthy roads on the way to the Waldhorn. Catch some lunch and then proceed to the HOF just down the road. The time at the HOF is about three hours.
