You have found the info & pre-registration page for the 2016 NASA Mid-Atlantic Championship Autocross at Virginia Motorsports Park in Dinwiddie on Saturday January 30, 2016 from 7am to 5pm. This first day of our 2016 championship season will consist of two events! You can sign up for the morning only, afternoon only, or run all day to earn double the championship points. We will reserve a weather date (typically one week later) in case mother nature doesn't cooperate - we will absolutely run this event in cold/wind/rain, just not anything frozen. The tentative schedule is:
Gates open @ 7am
Morning registration & tech open @ 8am
Course walk @ 8:30am
Drivers meeting @ 9:00am
Heat A @ 9:15am (heat B drivers work)
Heat B @ approx 10:45am (heat A drivers work)
Afternoon registration & tech open @ approx 11:45am
Lunch @ 12:15pm
Heat C @ 1:00pm (heat D drivers work)
Heat D @ approx 3:30pm (heat C drivers work)
Cars off course by 5:00pm
Gates close @ 6:00pm
These championship events will take place for about 50 entries (two 25-car heats) per event on a big/fast/fun course. Participants can expect at least 5 runs each per half-day segment, but hopefully more. Pre-registration is discounted below. If it doesn't fill, we will accept walk-up registrations that day for $50 cash per half-day segment. Everyone on site will need to sign the waiver and get a wristband immediately. This is a closed gate / private event, although drivers may invite guests. IF YOU ARE UNSURE OF YOUR CAR'S NASA-X CLASS PLEASE SIMPLY SELECT "NXR" aka "run what ya brung" (or NOVICE if applicable.)
PLEASE LIST THREE CAR NUMBER CHOICES WHEN YOU REGISTER (i.e. 7, 17, 71.) WE DO NOT ALLOW DUPLICATE CAR NUMBERS, EVEN IN DIFFERENT HEATS, BECAUSE IT MESSES UP OUR TIMING & SCORING. YOUR CAR NUMBER MAY NOT BE YOUR FIRST CHOICE DEPENDING UPON WHEN YOU SIGN UP. PLEASE PLAN TO CHECK THE ENTRY LIST LINKED FROM HERE THE WEEK BEFORE THE EVENT JUST IN CASE. CAR NUMBERS NEED TO BE BIG AND VISIBLE ON EVENT DAY. SHOE POLISH IN WINDOWS IS NOT RECOMMENDED. PAINTERS TAPE ON WINDOWS OR BODYWORK IS OK.
IF YOU HAVE A HEAT PREFERENCE PLEASE LIST IT IN THE "TRANSPONDER NUMBER" or "ADDITIONAL COMMENTS" SECTION OF YOUR REGISTRATION. THE LONGER YOU WAIT TO REGISTER THE LESS LIKELY IT IS THAT YOU'LL GET INTO THE HEAT YOU REQUEST, AND PREFERENCE ALWAYS GOES TO MEMBERS THEN NON-NOVICE DRIVERS. SO IF YOU DO NOT REQUEST A HEAT, OR IF YOU ARE A NONMEMBER AND/OR NOVICE, YOUR HEAT WILL PROBABLY BE ASSIGNED. ALSO IF YOU REGISTER AT THE EVENT NOT IN ADVANCE, YOU DO NOT GET YOUR CHOICE OF CAR NUMBER OR HEAT - BOTH WILL BE ASSIGNED.
PLEASE REMEMBER - IF YOU WANT TO RUN BOTH EVENTS YOU NEED TO SIGN UP FOR ALL DAY.
