A RoadRally is a contest run in street-legal cars on city or country roads, at legalspeeds. It's a pleasant drive in the country with some competition involved.
All you need is a car, a second person (the “navigator”), proof of insurance and your driver’s license, a clipboard and a pencil. No special car preparation needed. If you’re street legal, you’re driving a potential rally car. A good rallyist in a clunker will always beat a lousy rallyist in a Ferrari. You don’t need to be an SCCA member to run, but points count towards a year-long championship for SCCA members.
Registration will be at the Petaluma Café, 305 W 1382, Cedar Hill. Going south from IH-20/635 on IH-35, take the Pleasant Run exit, and stay on the service road until you can turn right at the Uptown Village sign. Petaluma Café is next to Dillards, at the NW corner of the shopping center. W
Please note: if there will be a minor child (under 18 years old) in the car with you for the rally, an SCCA “Minor Release” must be turned in, signed by both parents. If both parents will not be at registration, a notarized form with both signatures must be presented. You may request a blank form at rally@texasscca.org.
Preregistration here is $20 for SCCA members, $30 nonmembers.
Please join us for a few hours of driving fun, whether you drive a sports car, a vintage car, or a family sedan! If you belong to another car club, why not form a team to represent your club? 3-car teams may enter for a special Rally Team Trophy. These may be club teams, marque teams, sponsored teams, etc.. There is no extra entry fee for teams.
New rallyists are always welcome. Last year, novice teams scored very well and took some of the top places in the event.
Event requirements
There must be at least 2 people in every rally car. The driver must have a valid driver's license and proof of insurance. The car must be in good mechanical condition. If one of the rally car occupants is a minor (under 18 years old), that person must have an SCCA "Minor Release" signed by both parents in the presence of either the rally registrar or a Notary Public. The form is available from rally@texasscca.org, or at registration.
