6th Annual, 2014 Motor State Challenge, Optima Search for the Ultimate Street Car Open Event
Motor State Distributing, Lane Automotive, and Allstar Performance Products are proud to present the 6th Annual Motor State Challenge, one of the largest Pro-Touring/G-Machine street car events in the country.
The 2014 Motor State Challenge will take place July 24-26 (Thursday-Saturday) and include a Thursday night cruise, car show, cookout, and live music. Track Day will take place Friday at GingerMan Raceway where a full day of grouped road course runs will take place. This year competitors will be timed using AMB Transponders. If you have an AMB Transponder mounted in your vehicle, you’ll need to include your transponder number during your registration process. Please make sure you have updated the transponder number in your vehicle information here if you own one. If you do not have a transponder, we will have units on site for use. If you are interested in purchasing a transponder for your car/truck feel free to contact us. We have worked out some good pricing on the units through one of our local race tracks. The event will wrap up Saturday with Autocross action at The Tire Rack in South Bend, IN. A full schedule is listed below.
The 2014 Motor State Challenge is an “Optima Search for the Ultimate Street Car Open Event”, one (1) of only 2 events outside of the 10 USCA events that provide participants with an opportunity to compete for a coveted spot in the Optima Ultimate Street Car Invitational November 8-9, in Las Vegas, NV. One (1) “OPTIMA Spirit of the Event Award” will be given to the car/driver combination that best meets the overall spirit of passion, enthusiasm and car quality that defines the OPTIMA Ultimate Street Car series. In order to secure the OUSCI invite, the Spirit of the Event Award winner must complete at least one of the OPTIMA Search for the Ultimate Street Car qualifying events during the calendar year in which the award was received. Thursday, July 24 Motor State Check-In And Cruise Night and Cookout
1:00 PM - Check-In Opens (Lane Automotive Customer Pick Up Area)
1:30 PM to 3:00 PM - Lane Automotive/Motor State Facility Tours and Meet and Greet
3:00 PM to 4:00 PM - Drivers/Participant Meeting (Motor State Training Room)
4:14 PM - Cruise Departs (approx. 30-35 miles)
5:00 PM to ? - Cruise-In, Car Show, Cook-Out, and Live Music - River Park, Niles, MI.
Friday, July 25 GingerMan Raceway Road Course
7:30 AM to 8:00 AM - MSC/SCCA Staff Meeting
8:00 AM - 5:00 PM - Track day at GingerMan Raceway Road Course in South Haven, Michigan. Drivers will be divided into groups, based on experience. Novice drivers will keep speeds to a prudent rate. Experienced and Professional drivers will be able to run the course at a faster pace, but will still be expected to keep safety at the forefront. All drivers will be required to wear a SNELL 2005 (or later) rated helmet. There will be absolutely NO fender to fender racing allowed on the course. PLEASE NOTE: Convertibles will not be allowed to participate on the Road Course unless they are equipped with structurally secure, roll-over protection (roll bar or cage).
Saturday, July 26 Autocross, Tire Rack (South Bend, IN)
7:30 AM to 8:00 AM - MSC/SCCA Staff Meeting
8:00 AM to 9:00 AM - Registration, Drivers Meeting, and Course Walk
9:30 AM - First Car on Autocross
Competition will begin at 9:30 and continue until 4:00. Awards for the event will be handed out at the conclusion of the Autocross event. Lane Automotive's Relay for Life team will once again be providing lunch on Saturday during the Autocross event. A variety of food, drinks, and desert will be available for all participants and spectators for a donation to the charity.
Join us for three days filled with good times, good friends and the chance to experience the technological creativity and excitement that defines Pro-Touring. Due to the nature of this event, participation registrations will be limited. In order to secure a spot, please register as soon as possible. All events will run, rain or shine.
Entry Fees
You can choose the events you’d like to participate in or register for a Complete Event Pass. The Complete Event Pass will also include a one (1) year subscription to Grassroots Motorsports Magazine, compliments of Motor State Distributing and Grassroots Motorsports Magazine.
