Moab to Gateway "Showdown at the border" Tour

Red Cliffs Lodge

About this event

Welcome to the IRPCA "Shootout at the Border" driving tour, an event that will allow members of Intermountain PCA region to meet and drive along with members of the Rocky Mountain PCA region. This overnight tour will begin on the morning of October 10th. Intermountain PCA region (IRPCA) members will meet at a point to be determined in either Salt Lake or Utah Valley. Members of the Rocky Mountain PCA region (RMR) will depart from a meeting point in the Denver area, to be announced by region management. Both tours will be timed to meet up at the Red Cliffs Lodge along the Green River in Moab by between 3 and 4 pm.

The official PCA driving tour for Saturday will end at Red Cliffs Lodge, which also happens to be the site of the Castle Creek Winery. We are arranging an optional wine tasting for tour participants for $20 per person at approximately 4pm, Saturday. Wine tasting will be open to all tour participants regardless of whether you choose to stay at Red Cliffs Lodge. To help plan, we ask that those who want to do the wine tasting, order and pre-pay through this registration process at Motorsportreg.com.

As of September 6th, we have 28 of 34 rooms available rooms with confirmed reservations at Red Cliffs Lodge under the group code name "IRPCA". If you have not yet reserved, we ask that you call and make reservations per the instructions on the next page of this form as soon as possible. We will need your confirmation number from Red Cliff's Lodge number, here at MSReg.com as you fill out the registration form for the tour. Rooms will be available on a first come, first served basis. All unreserved rooms in our discounted room block will be released at the end of business on September 9th, so we ask that you reserve as soon as you know you plan to join the tour. Red Cliffs Lodge has been on numerous national "best of" lists. It also has a very interesting (and free) Moab Movie Museum with photos and memorabilia from dozens of films shot in the area. Dinner is on your own. If you plan to stay at Red Cliffs Lodge you may want to make your dinner reservations as you check in. The setting at the lodge is VERY CASUAL. You can learn all about the venue at www.redcliffslodge.com .

You may also choose to stay in the town of Moab, rather than at the Red Cliffs Lodge. If we fully book up our block of rooms at Red Cliff's Lodge, then we will also designate a suggested alternate hotel.  The town of Moab is approximately 15 miles beyond Red Cliffs Lodge and is along the tour route for Sunday morning October 11th. We will arrange a meeting point along the south end of Moab for participants staying in Moab to regroup on Sunday.

Sunday's tour will head south and east from Moab to the Unaweep Tabeguache Scenic Byway in Colorado, and will then head north to Gateway Colorado where we will end the joint tour at the Gateway Auto Museum. At the end of the Auto Museum Tour, members of each region will continue to tour back to their respective regions.
