Memorial Day - Pirelli World Challenge, Formula 4.

Lime Rock Park

About this event

The SCCA Pirelli World Challenge (PWC) has long been a favorite of Lime Rock Park fans, so after a three year absence, PWC comes roaring back for 2016.

There are four big PWC races scheduled: Two for GTS and two for GT & GT Cup.

PLUS, Lime Rock fans will see history made as the first three races of the all-new United States Formula 4 open-wheel championship debuts! U.S. F4 single-seaters are identical Honda-powered carbon fiber cars with 160 h.p., sequential gearboxes, Pirelli racing slicks, and front and rear wings.

Don’t miss the first-ever F4 races in America!

 -----

PWC is a veritable hotbed of production- and production-based classes. The big dog division is GT, where the biggest, baddest racing machines from Audi, Cadillac, Aston Martin, Bentley, BMW, Acura, Nissan, Lamborghini, Porsche, Ferrari, Viper, Mercedes and McLaren bare their fangs in frantic one hour showdowns.

The GTS division features a lot of the same manufacturers as GT, but the cars are closer to street spec. Don’t be fooled – the races for GTS honors are just as crazy – and it’s where Kia, Hyundai, Subaru and Scion choose to do battle with Camaros, Mustangs, Porsches, Audis, Astons and Nissans.

The GT Cup class is comprised of all Porsche 911s, the cars nearly identical to the 911s in the hugely popular Porsche CT3 Cup series that supports many Formula 1 races around the globe.

You know what? Pirelli World Challenge is like picking out the coolest cars from the fan parking areas at Lime Rock – and then having them go at it on the track.

Remember,  workers get paid $50 per day provided they register on Motorsports Reg or with Gina Tierney if Motorsports Reg is not available prior to the event.  All workers will be given an event specific hard card for the days they will be working.  Workers who register for the entire event (Friday and Saturday) will only need to register with registrar once.  Day workers will need to register on the day they are working.

You still register at the West Bend reg. building to sign the insurance waivers and the LRP informational sheet (so you can get paid). You do this the morning of your first working day. You'll also get your "hot track" pass.

Each worker is allowed one guest pass/day. You can get that at W.B. registration.

This is an event not to be missed!!

Event requirements

At least 18 years old,  SCCA membership # and license grade preferred but not necessary. Don’t forget whites, bug spray, gloves, whistle and sunscreen. Bring or buy your lunch. Camping for workers is free but must be reserved in advance.  Gina Tierney - ginamarie714@aol.com
