Take a leisurely drive down the coast on Thursday, February 20th, to be ready for an in-depth tour of The Mercedes-Benz Classic Center on Friday, February 21st.  This is the only manufacturer-operated restoration and sales facility in the country dedicated to preserving classic Mercedes-Benz automobiles and is open Monday through Friday only.  If you are looking for a classic Mercedes, they can find it.  If you need a full restorationor just basic upkeep, the Classic Center services every classic Mercedes ever made.  If you are looking for a part, they have an unrivaled selection.  If you need that missing build/data card for your Mercedes, just provide the VIN number and the Classic Center will get it for you.  While there, we may even see the Classic Center's own special collection.

After we finish the Classic Center tour on Friday, we will drive to Oxnard area for our Saturday, February 22nd tour of the Mullin Automotive Museum.  Oxnard is 110 miles northwest of Irvine or about two hours or so driving time on the 405 and 101 depending on traffic, of course.

On Saturday, February 22nd, we are going French.  The Mullin Automotive Museum, open only twenty days during the year, pays homage to the art deco and machine age - eras that produced exquisite art and magnificent automobiles.  You will see some of the finest French autos ever made including Bugatti, Delages, Delahaye, Peugeot, Talbot-Lago, and Voisin as well as significant and representative art from the 1920s and 1930s.  There may even be some elegant Bugatti furniture on display.  We will have a docent guiding us through our 2 to 2 1/2 hour tour, so we will have the opportunity to ask whatever questions come to mind.

Following our tour of the Mullin Automotive Museum tour, we will for about an hour northwesterly to Goleta for our Saturday afternoon tour of Madera Concepts.

Madera Concepts has been around since 1982, and focuses only on automotive woodwork restoration, refinishing, reveneering and repair.  Their work is outstanding and I can personally attest to that.  They refinished the center console panel on my 420 SEL and matched all the other wood panels perfectly.  Having had the opportunity for visit Maders Concepts in January 2013, I think you will be amazed by their attention to detail and quality.  We will be hosted by co-owners Tony Gonzales and Jeff Wayco.
