Saturday 2017-02-25 Pick n-Pull Gathering

Ever wonder about the joy of classic car ownership? A major part of classic car ownership is being able to select parts you need yourself to repair or replace any broken parts in your Mercedes from a nearby scrap yard. By scrap yard, we don’t necessarily mean cars that are a complete disaster. There are still some sound examples that may result from a tax write-off donation or a salvage vehicle from an insurance loss. Fortunately, Mercedes-Benz is still a pretty common brand in the yard.  A lot of  the time, if you are lucky enough, this is the place you can locate quality parts that are either scarce or no longer available at a fraction of the price that you would pay for retail or online. Yet, you have the freedom to select the best out of a few examples available from the lot. So, make a checklist of things you need and we will meet at the Hayward Pick-n-Pull yard located at 7400 Mowry Drive, Hayward. A $2.00 entry fee is charged at the gate.

Popular Benz models in yards are W123 E class, W126 S class, W201 190 class, W202 C class, W124 E Class, W140 S class, W210 E class and W163 ML class.

Recommended attire: sweat pants, jeans and thick padded shoes. A pair of industrial or disposable gloves. First aid kit.

Required tool: Wrenches, Screw drivers, Clips, Vise and etc.

Organizer will be able to assist in removing auto parts at request if necessary.

Meeting time: 9AM to Noon, a no-host lunch can be arranged following our time at the yard at a nearby shopping plaza.
