About this event
Mayday Mayday XXVI Road Rally
The Arctic Alaska Region of the Sports Car Club of America will be sanctioning the first (and second, more later) event in the 2012 Summer Road Rally Series on Saturday, June 23rd. This event will be a late-nighter—that's right, we'll be rallying until at least midnight across Anchorage's hillside part of town!
As we had need to shift our Summer Road Rally Series into June, this evenings rally will have two registration options—run May Evening in June Road Rally 6-9P or run the entire evening which would qualify you as running the Mayday Mayday XXVI Road Rally. It will count as two rally events for the Summer Road Rally Series too as we want our Signs of Spring Rally School new rallyists to have an exposure to the sport while not overwhelming them with a six-hour event. We'll see what Foot and Brain say, yet they may add their event back onto the calendar in September/October, so stay tuned!
Cheryl Lynn will be the Rallymaster for the Mayday Mayday XXVI Road Rally. She wrote, "Back in the day of rallying in Alaska, All Niters were a popular thing to do. Given the demands in this day and age, we're going to start with a six hour rally and end at a diner for breakfast about midnight!! Yet, I'll offer that with every three registered/paid teams over eight teams, I'll add one hour of rallying and extend the rally up to 2AM; this offer ends on June 2nd, as the route must be fairly well set by June 5th.”
The starting location for this 2012 Summer Road Rally Series event will be in Anchorage and will be updated as we get closer to the date. Yet don't let that stop you from registering today! The Rallymaster and the program needs to know that folks are interested in returning to rallies that are more than ninty-minutes in length! For more information stay tuned to www.alaskascca.motorsportreg.com and register today!
You do need to arrive at 5:00PM as you will need to take care of final registration matters, your vehicle tech inspection and more!
Don't have a dedicated rally partner? No worries—register up and call Cheryl at 243-2122/745-2013 (9A-7P) and let her know you would like to run and are looking for a Driver or Navigator to fill out a team!
Event requirements
REGISTRATION and ENTRY FEES
We encourage all of you planning to enter this event to register here at http://www.alaskascca.motorsportreg.com. One of your team will need to register the vehicle and their position on the team (Driver or Navigator) and the other will need to register their position on the team and personal information only. The entry fee for this road rally season is fifteen dollars for an SCCA member of the rally team and twenty dollars a rally team member needing an SCCA Weekend Membership. The full Mayday Mayday XXVI is an additional $10 per team. Please bring exact cash or check for payment at the event should you choose not to pay online when you register.
Due to the nature of the motorsport known as Road Rally, Rallymasters must have ample copies of the Route Instructions and Checkpoint Slips prepared in advance of the event; there are no copiers along the highway! This is why we need your registration here and we will keep online registration open until 11:59PM on Friday, June 22nd.
You may also call Cheryl at 243-2122 to register for the May Evening in June Road Rally or the Mayday Mayday XXVI Road Rally versus online registration.
DRIVERS LICENSES
