The Las Vegas Region of the Porsche Club of America presents two great days of Driver Education and Open Track Driving at Spring Mountain Motorsports Ranch on March 18th and 19th, 2017.
We are running the original 3.4 mile layout
All car makes are welcome!
Our events focus on Fun, Safety, and Education. We have a great group of instructors available to you in all Run Groups. There will 30-minute sessions for Novice, Intermediate, and Advanced drivers.
There will not be a Ground School/Car Control Clinic at this event. If you have never driven on a racetrack or have not had formal racetrack oriented driving instruction, PLEASE DO NOT REGISTER FOR THIS EVENT. We will be conducting new instructor training during the sessions that are normally for the Student Group.

- Saturday Only: $225
- Sunday Only: $225
- Both Days: $350
Qualifications For This Event: formal racetrack oriented driving instruction, such as a two or three day paid performance driving school at Ron Fellows, Skip Barber, Bob Bondurant, or equivalent academy, or a formal two day HPDE ground/track school with the Porsche Club of America, Audi Club, BMW Club, or equivalent. If you are not sure you have met this criteria, please contact us before registering.
At the track registrations fees:
- One Day: $250
- Two Days: $400

Event requirements
IMPORTANT INFORMATION:
- Gates open at 7:00am. Drivers Meeting is at 8:00am.
- All entrants must be 18 years of age and possess a valid state, province or country Driver's License.
- All car occupants must wear a Snell approved SA or M helmet of 2010 rating or newer. If it is a Snell M rated helmet and the occupant is required to wear a driving suit, then the occupant must also wear a nomex balaclava (headsock).
- Helmet Rentals will not be available at the track.
- A limited number of rental transponders will be available at the event for $25 per day.
- Faceshields or protective goggles are required in all open cars and cars without a windshield.
- Clothing shall be full-length pants, long sleeve shirts and full foot closed toe shoes and socks. No short pants allowed. This clothing will be of natural fibers, no synthetics except approved fire resistant material.
- All convertibles and “open” cars shall have roll bars unless equipped with factory rollover protection, such as Porsche Boxsters and newer Carrera Cabriolets. Convertibles will run with the top closed - this includes T-tops, Targa tops and sunroofs.
- Arm restraints are required for all open top cars.
- If you will have an instructor riding with you, your car must have the same restraint system for both driver and passenger.
- Occupants must wear a fire resistant driving suit in cars that are race prepped or have had the interior removed. See PCA Zone 8 Rule Book for suit specifications.
- The Drivers Meeting is MANDATORY for all drivers. Critical topics will be discussed including Flags, Passing Rules and Track Entry/Exit.
- A Tech Inspection Form will be required to be completed prior to the event and brought with you to the track to present to Tech. http://lasvegaspca.com/Docs/DE-TechForm.pdf
NOTE:
As of January 1, 2017, Snell 2005 helmets will no longer be accepted in PCA events. All helmets will be required to be Snell 2010 or newer.
