Lime Rock Park 2015

Lime Rock Park

About this event

It is with sadness and disappointment that I am writing you today to announce that the Limerock Park May 14th Women/Instructor's Day and subsequent HPDE scheduled  May 15th-16th is being cancelled.  We were recently informed by the management of Limerock Park that a paving project scheduled for November 2014 with a completion date in April 2015 was seriously delayed.  The delays were caused by the rapid onset of winter, which caused the asphalt plants to close earlier than expected.  The long cold winter caused further delays with work at the track and led to the late opening of the asphalt plants.   The Porsche Club, Skip Barber School and Limerock Members Club have also been affected by the closure of the track from May 10th-14th.  We have been told that if the paving project goes 100% to schedule, the track could possibly reopen on May 15th.  However, any type of delays, including wet weather, will impact the timeline of the project further, leading to a last minute cancellation of our two day HPDE on May 15th-16th.   The board debated the risk of going forward with the 2 day event knowing a last minute cancellation was likely.  With people’s busy schedules, limited flexibility at work and hotel cancellation policies, in many cases ranging from 7-10 days in advance, the board felt the risk was too high.  We regret any inconvenience this may have caused you.  Full refunds will be made to all participants.

The NEQ club intends to be back at Limerock on our regularly scheduled dates in 2016.  We are exploring other possible options to return to Limerock later this season.  We hope to see you at one of our other events listed below.

The Northeast Chapter of the Audi Club NA (NEQ) is holding its annual event at Lime Rock Park in the beautiful Northwest corner of Connecticut on May 15-16, 2015.  Again this year we will be sharing track time  with the Lime Rock Club.  To insure that all participants get the same track time as at previous LRP events, we are limiting the number of students in each run group.  This will allow us to have four full track sessions on each day for every run group.  Please join us at LRP for two full days of fun and learning on one of New England's most beautiful road courses! The fee for this event is $595.00.  LRP costs are higher than other events due to the cost fo the track and the limited number of students we can allow (only 48).

Cancellation Policy (revised 5/24/11): No credits will be given.  All cancellations will be processed as a refund minus a cancellation fee as follows:

   - $50 Penalty up to 21 days before the event

The NEQ is a great driver's school that focuses on safety and training and is a great place to start to learn high performance driving.

Who we are and what we do

The Northeast Chapter of the Audi Club of North America, or "NEQ" for short, is a non-profit organization which was founded for the purpose of driver education and safety training. To that end, the club runs approximately 6 events at motorsport facilities around the Northeast, including Lime Rock Park, New Jersey Motorsports, Watkins Glen International, and Mont Tremblant. Our events teach safe driving techniques and both low and high speed vehicle handling. In addition, the club usually runs Winter Driving Schools, social events, including Fun Runs, Social in NYC and other social gatherings.

When you join the Audi Club of North America, if you reside in the NEQ chapter area.you are automatically put on our mailing list, which means you should receive an election ballot towards the end of the year. If you do not, please contact the ACNA's office and confirm your mailing address is correct.

In an effort to keep our members informed of upcoming NEQ events we have established an e-mail notification process. Please make sure nationals has your e-mail address.

Event requirements

Membership Requirements:

To participate in this event you must be a member of Audi Club North America (ACNA).  To join ACNA and receive your membership number please go to AudiClubNA.org

Once you have this number you will be able to register for all future NEQ events.

Vehicle Requirements

The newer generation of driver's school applicants often bring vehicles whose performance is beyond their driving ability. Because of this the NEQ Board of Directors passed the following resolution which requires the vehicle to more closely match the driver's ability.

  1. Non-solo applicants - Those drivers who have not soloed at NEQ events.
    • Vehicle must be Registered and Street Legal
    • Vehicle must be insured
    • Vehicle must have DOT Street Tires with a treadwear rating of 140
  2. Solo applicants
    • Vehicle must be Registered and Street Legal
    • Vehicle must be insured
    • Vehicle must have DOT legal tires
  3. Instructors
    • Any tires acceptable
  4. All convertibles must have permanent roll bars and meet the Broomstick rule described HERE

Tech pre-Inspection

Well in advance of any on-track driving event, you'll need to get your car pre-inspected by a competent mechanic, who will have to provide a completed and signed copy of the Safety Inspection Checklist form (first page only) for you to bring with you to registration. Please get your car inspected at least two weeks before the event to avoid disappointment if the inspection uncovers repairs that must be completed before the car will pass.

The Northeast Region Quattro Club recognizes several Audi-VW tuners and service centers. They are NEQ supporters with years of experience and scores of satisfied customers. As a benefit for NEQ members they will provide free tech pre-inspection for applicants of our schools. Bring your Safety Inspection Checklist form. After inspection they will sign your form to be sure you are eligible for our event. Naturally there will be a charge for any parts or labor that are additionally required to prepare your vehicle. Two of these sites are APR distributors. They are all participants of our events with much experience in regard to car preparation and advice for upgrades. You will be happy with their services without the worry of dealing with a Audi-VW dealership or corner repair shop. Be sure to call for appointments well in advance of an event.

A helmet with a SNELL SA10 or SA05 rating are the only helmets that may be used.

No more M (motorcycle) helmets will be allowed.
