Legends of the Autobahn for German Marques

Audi Club welcomes the owners of other German Marques to join us at Legends of the Autobahn 2014

Come join your fellow German Automotive Enthusiasts! Plan to be a part of the Legends of the Autobahn auto show on August 15, 2014.  BMW, Mercedes Benz, and Audi car clubs are organizing this year’s edition of a very popular event held annually during the Monterey Classic Car week. This year we are inviting other German car marques (e g. Porsche, VW, Bitter, Borgward, et al, and club affiliated or not) to join us.  Expect to see and enjoy the nearly 500 cars displayed at this unique event.  The cars in attendance come from far & wide, and belong to the members of the local and national Chapters of the Audi, BMW, and Mercedes Benz car clubs, or non affiliated German car owners..

The sponsoring clubs wish to welcome the owners of other German marques to Legends of the Autobahn.  This is a new "Open Category" which includes but not limited to Porsche (air and water cooled), VW, Opel, Bitter, Borgward and others.  We will expand the combine General German car class depending on the number of participants registering. 

Additionally, we are very pleased to report that this 2014 event has found a new, and very special home.   Prepare to enjoy an exclusive country club experience at the NICKLAUS CLUB - MONTEREY, (formerly the Pasadera Country Club) conveniently adjacent to the Laguna Seca Raceway and east of the Laguna Seca Golf Course. The event is located at 100 Pasadera Drive, Monterey, California.  Displaying car owners will have the opportunity to join with the other German car owners on the greens and fairways of this dramatic and beautiful park-like setting.  Please confirm that you wish to participate in the Monterey Historics Week by joining this remarkable assembly. Non-Participant, spectator admission is free, and there will be adequate on-site parking a short walking distance away. 

We expect there will be a number of special cars to see.  Our group has a number of extraordinary and unique cars that many of us rarely see.  This event is not to be missed!

This year we are primarilyRings Historic Judged Class.  Since Ferdinand.  Porsche designed the Auto Union race cars we feel this is appropriate.  To enter the 4-Rings historic Class go to the Audi Website at http://www.audiclubgoldengate.org and complete your registration process. 

As you have come to enjoy, there will be food, beverages, and auto regalia displayed and available in a festival-like atmosphere within a beautiful setting.  Because of the new location inland, we are even more likely to enjoy a fog-free atmosphere, also rich in the festival of sounds emanating from the adjacent Laguna Seca Raceway.   

The special Legends of the Autobahn golf shirts, this year in White, will be available for pre-order at $40 for nearly all sizes, $45 for 2XL & 3XL. 

There are several meal options available when purchased in advance.  A breakfast buffet including: pastries, yogurt, fruit juice, coffee, and Tea is $14.00. Thre are two lunch options.  The Legends Luncheon, at $29.75, offersups, hamburger, cole slaw, chips, cookies, and soft drinks.  The Legends VIP Luncheon, at $49.75, will be held in the clubhouse. The VIP Luncheon offers many choices of grilled kebobs of chicken and vegiestip, wild rice salad, Mediterraneanchairs & small umbrellas welcomed.   There may be some slight menu changes. 

We are also looking for volunteers, both to contribute their expertise as judges and for general assistance.  Volunteers will receive the buffet breakfast at no-charge, with our compliments, for their well-appreciated efforts. 

We plan to have a number of interesting German cars models on display, both new and old.  The particupating marque manufactures and dealers have made wonderful, historical placements at the prior two Legends Events.  We look forward to announcing their plans to display several new and special cars for us to see.  Of course most of the cars at the show are our personal vehicles, ones that we all know and love.  We are encouraging all area German car owners to come, join us in the prideful display their car(s), while enjoying the camaraderie of other German car owners on the grass at this all day, family friendly car show and picnic-like event.  To find out more about the history of this event, please visit the main event website http://www.legendsoftheautobahn.org.

General All Marques Corral:    $45 until registration closes on August 9th.

    Entry closes Aug 9th, at midnight (we may have to close registration early if we reach the maximum number of cars, of all marques, allowed on the field).  

Food & Beverage.

    Breakfast: Breakfast Buffet is $14.00, and must be purchased in advance. It includes choices of Assorted muffins, pastries, and bagels.  Also includes an assortment of flavored cream cheeses, yogurt, fruit, assorted fruit juices, coffee and tea.     

Lunch Buffet: Lunch Buffet is $29.75 and must be purchased in advance.  Lunch buffet includes choices of roast beef and turkey roll-up, the "Pasadera Burger", Cole Slaw, Chips,  assorted cookies, and soft drinks or Juices. 

VIP Clubhouse Luncheon:   Buffet luncheon is $49.75 and must be purchased in advance.  This quality, sit down lunch includes choices of a variety of Roasted Veggies & Chicken Kebobs, sliced Tri-Tip, Wild Rice Salad, Mediterranean Salad of marinated cucumbers, Dessert Brownies and Fruit Tarts, and soft drinks or juices.

Aside from any other purchase you might make at this event, the Audi Club will provide you with a special Audi Club gift for this event.  Special Legends of the Autobahn golf shirts, in white, are also available for purchase in advance during Registration, or in limited quantities at the event.  Shirts in all sizes are $40 to $45.

Other things to do while you're in the Monterey area:

In addition to the Legends of the Autobahn event, there are many things to see and do in the area during the “Pebble Beach Weekend”. For example, many attend the Rolex Monterey Motorsports Reunion historic car races on August 16 and 17. We encourage everyone to sample the large variety of auto related events all over the Monterey Peninsula.  It is common to see cars that are rarely publicized in magazines driving though the streets of Monterey, or parked on Ocean Avenue in Carmel.   People come from all over the world to participate, see and be seen, at the plethora of local events. They come to take in the thick atmosphere of auto exotica that permeates the area streets.
