Q: What is all this?
A: We frequently get donations from wonderful, generous folks who wish to support the chapter, while cleaning out their garages and closets. It is important to them that it goes to someone who needs, or will love these items, and we respect that. :) We also receive the overage items from events that we host. Instead of letting it sit in the club storage unit, we decided to make it available to everyone in the hopes of supporting the chapter in a more meaningful way.
Q: Why not just give it away at the Annual Dinner?
A: Very often, this is the case. The careful balance between the items provided from members and sponsors are an important thing to consider. We want to encourage donations from everyone, and provide an appropriate means for exposure to our commercial sponsors. This format allows donors to be able to donate at ANY time - without having to wait for the Annual Dinner. This also allows the Chapter to fund programs like the Storage Unit, Cones, and more Club Gear in the future. Commercial Sponsors feel like their prizes are receiving elevated attention at the Annual Dinner. It's a win-win. :)
Q: Yeah, but doesn't the Chapter get charged for the Credit Card processing?
A: Yes, but it's a small price to pay for getting these items to a new loving home where our members will appreciate them immensely! Because we are keeping the pricing low, we are not shipping items. These must be picked up at the BMW Cars & Coffee held at the first Saturday of each Month at Panera Bread on Shawnee Mission Parkway. (If you do need alternate means, click the Contact Host button on the right - it will send the Chapter President an email).
Remember, these items do nothing for anyone just sitting in someone's house or storage unit - so show your support today! Donate or Purchase!
