Vintage Auto Racing Association invites you to attend the K&N Oktoberfest racing and VARA HPDE event at Buttonwillow Raceway Park, celebrating the vintage race cars of the German marque. Featured events include the 'All-German' production car race and free race entry's for 1st time racers in German Cars.
Hope everyone has enjoyed their summer break! The Vintage Auto Racing Association is offering you German race car enthusiasts a special offer. Anyone interested in 2 FREE days of RACING!! YES, you heard correctly, TWO FREE DAYS OF RACING!! Oct. 5-6, 2019 VARA is hosting our yearly Oktoberfest event at Button Willow Raceway Park, and is offering this FREE full race weekend to 1st time non-members driving a German race car.
Some details are you must have a race prepped car and be a currently licensed racer from SCCA, NASA, PCA, POC, etc. Final track config's (there will be 2) and details will be posted soon. The schedule usually consists of qualify and race both days. Sunday the track is flipped and same practice, qualify and race. Friday is available for test and tune but there is a fee for that as it's run by the track and not the VARA. Track configuration will be 25 Counter Clockwise using the full back straight (no bus stop), Magic Mountain and all-the-way-down to the Mazda hairpin corner. Sunday will be the same course in reverse.
The track collects $10 weekend gate fee for each person entering.
Event requirements
Things to check/confirm as you complete registration:
- Is your VARA membership current
- Do you you hold a VARA competition license?
- Or, do you have a VMC license?
- Are you on probation or suspension with any racing organization?
- Are you new driver (or new-to-VARA) that needs to attend Ground School?
- Do you have proof of a medical card within the last 2 years?
