June Autocross Practice

El Toro Field

About this event

Our Saturday practice series resumes with our return to our summer home, El Toro. With runways disappearing in favor of new homes, we know our days are numbered here at El Toro. For the time being, we have one last runway to play on. With longer daylight hours, we hope to accommodate a large group of autocrossers looking for practice time.

Solo, or autocross, is a low speed, timed, handling event set up as a small road course lined with orange traffic cones on a large parking lot or aircraft taxi way. The emphasis is on handling and car control and the courses are laid out so that the top speed is limited to what would be encountered during normal driving.

Saturday practices are open to all SCCA members, but there is a maximum number of people allowed per event. If you’re not an SCCA member, do not worry. Non-members can purchase an SCCA weekend membership with online registration during the checkout process, or at the event for $15. For entry into the practice, priority is given to points card holders. Please note that registration is on a first-come, first-served basis. Registering for the event does not guarantee your entry; the entry list will be posted two weeks out.
