Indiana Rallycross Event #2 is here, and we will be front and center as one of the featured events for this year’s Ultimate Motorsports Championship (UMC) at the Badlands Off Road Park in Attica Indiana. If you’ve ever been to a UMC event in the past then you know that this is a big thing. We will be racing directly across the street from monster trucks and lots of other off-road racing action, and we are anticipating thousands of spectators at the park throughout the day.

This is going to be a huge event and Indiana Rallycross is thrilled to be a part of it again this year. We hope to see a great driver turnout and expect to see a lot of interest and excitement from the crowd there, most of whom will have never seen anything like this before.

Race Information
Whether or not you’ve raced with Indiana Rallycross before you can prepare for a completely new and unique experience. This will be one of the most technical and most challenging courses we’ve run, with course features never seen before in amateur rallycross. In many ways this course resembles more of what you might expect to see in the Global Rallycross series.

If you’re familiar with the Badlands then you might recognize our track as part of the motocross track. The Badlands crew are putting in a lot of work with a lot of heavy machinery to get the track to our spec. Widening, smoothing, and grading efforts are all underway. There is no racing in a field this time around, this is 100% dirt track racing that will take us through the woods, around banked turns, and over a few rolling hills to keep things interesting. Being fast on this track is going to come down to handling and traction.

Safety Disclaimer:
If were to rank our courses on a difficulty scale, most of our previous tracks fall in the middle of scale with some challenges but generally safe for veteran and rookie drivers alike. This particular course will fall on the more difficult side of the scale and may not be appropriate for new drivers.

This track should be a lot of fun and really be a unique experience for rallycross competitors. It also poses some very unique safety risks. We are doing everything we can to ensure the safety of our drivers and make track conditions the best we possibly can. However we will be relying heavily on the competitors to drive within their limits, and the limits of their car.

We will be running in close proximity to trees, a few areas of the track may have slight drop offs on the outside edge, and because this was a motocross track – it has several jumps, hills, and tabletop sections. We will be going around most of these, and those that are still on the track have either been leveled off or rounded. But there is still the potential that some cars may be able to jump and get air on those remaining bumps.

There is very little margin for error along parts of this track. Drivers who push too hard will end up in a ditch, a tree, or worse. Indiana Rallycross safety officials will have a zero tolerance policy for drivers who we do not feel are driving in a safe manner.

$80 per competitor, includes UMC admission for driver and up to 3 family and crew members

All car types are welcome. There will be classes for AWD, FWD, and RWD cars from stock to modified. Due to the nature of the course any trucks or specialty vehicles will need to contact us at IndianaRallycross@gmail.com ahead of time for approval to compete.

Schedule:
7:00 AM – Gates open (to Rallycross competitors only) for sign in, registration, and tech inspection
9:00 AM – Gates open to general public
9:30 AM – Pre race drivers meeting (all competitors must be signed in prior to this)
10:00 AM - Racing starts and runs continuously through the day
3:00 PM - Racing concludes
3:30 PM – Awards ceremony


Spectators, Photographers, and Media passes:
Spectators must stay in the designated viewing areas on the course. The rest of the course will be closed off with access for race personnel only. Spectators (outside of the family and crew members arriving with the competitor) will be required to pay the $18 ticket cost to get in to the badlands. This ticket gets you full access to everything else going on during the day as well.

Photographers will be allowed on course, but need to arrange with IRC staff prior to racing to request a media pass for access to the track.


Other Important Information:
1. Please take note that this is a big event, and it is a new location from the last few races. Highly recommended that competitors show up early.
2. Due to the number of other events going on it is very important that we stay on schedule. We have a hard cut off time of 3:30pm and want to maximize the amount of racing we can get in before that.
3. UMC tickets normally cost $18 per person. However rallycross competitors will receive admission for themselves and 3 additional family and crew members with them included as part of your Indiana Rallycross entrance. So please bring them along for the show.
4. The Badlands UMC event is a BIG event, and we are just a part of it. Several other races will be going on, including rock crawling, ultra4, and monster trucks. We expect several thousand spectators to be on hand to watch all events.
5. Several food vendors will be located on site throughout the day



Special Requests:
Indiana Rallycross will be in Attica on Friday night before the race for the parade and festival in town. We’d love to have you come out and show your support. Would you like your car to be in the parade? We need several cars and drivers on hand to participate and are willing to compensate drivers who can help out.

We are also looking for a limited number of volunteers to help work the course on Saturday in exchange for discounted entry to future events. Most of the woods section of the course will be off limits to spectators. So help us out keeping an eye on the course and get the best seat in the house while you’re at it.
