About this event

Registration opens Feb. 1 for all instructors and PCA Potomac DE Volunteers (those invited to last fall's DE Volunteer Appreciation Day).
Registration opens for all other drivers 9 weeks before the event, Saturday, July 8.

     

Potomac has two Saturday High Performance Driving Schools scheduled, one in spring and one in fall. HPDC can be the single best day you'll have in your car, with emphasis on awareness and car control in a safely controlled environment and with an instructor in the car. 

This is for students who have zero or little performance driving experience (DE, HPDC, PDX, autocross, competition drag racing, etc.). Because HPDC is one way to qualify to drive in Potomac DE events, those with ZERO performance driving experience will be given preference. Sign up early, please. Our HPDCs usually sell out more than a month in advance and have long wait lists.

Two students sharing one vehicle is not allowed. Each vehicle must pass a brief inspection (brake pad wear, brake lights, and several other items) at the event in order to be allowed on track. SUVs (yes, even the Macan and Cayenne) are NO LONGER ALLOWED to participate in the HPDC.

All drivers must be at least 18 yrs old and have a valid drivers license.

APPLICATIONS/ACCEPTANCE

  • Our events are open to all marques.
  • You do not need to be a PCA member to participate.
  • Online registration dates are TBD. Registration closes the Saturday prior to the event (late registrations are risky due to capacity).
  • We initially list all registrants as “New.” We will provide formal notification of status change (e.g. accepted, waitlisted) by email at least 30 days prior to an event. If you don't receive notification by then, check your MSR Dashboard for your status and ensure your MSR profile has your correct email address.
  • Potomac volunteers will be accepted prior to filling the run groups.
  • IF YOU CAN'T PARTICIPATE, IT IS YOUR RESPONSIBILITY TO CANCEL.
  • Event waivers will be provided for review and required signatures at on-site event registration.

CLOTHING

  • Full coverage rubber-soled shoes, long sleeved and legged clothing and socks required. Natural fiber clothing highly recommended. Drivers’ suits, gloves, shoes and neck brace made of fire-resistant materials recommended but not required.

CANCELLATION

  • You must cancel online BEFORE WE BILL YOU, which will be around 3 weeks before the event.
  • If you cannot cancel online, you must notify the Registrar by email BEFORE YOU ARE BILLED and receive an ACKNOWLEDGEMENT by email to verify that you have canceled.

PAYMENT

  • Potomac accepts only credit cards for payment. You are responsible for maintaining valid credit card information in your profile.
  • We bill your credit card THREE weeks before the event. We only bill Confirmed drivers, not waitlisted drivers.
  • Billing problems result in notification by email with 48 hours to resolve the issue. If you do not correct the issue within 48 hours, your registration will be canceled. Reinstatement of a registration canceled for this reason will incur a $50 admin fee and require immediate payment with a valid credit card.
  • Credit card and billing information uses secure connections and is encrypted. You are the only person who has access to your card number. We only see the last four digits for billing.

REFUND

  • Cancel before you are billed (3 weeks before the event) and there is no charge.
  • Cancel after you are billed and you forfeit your entry fee.
  • Contact the DE Chair to discuss special circumstances. THE DE CHAIR IS THE ONLY PERSON WHO CAN AUTHORIZE A REFUND OR CREDIT FOR AN EVENT.
  • If you are authorized a credit for an event, you must use it before the end of the calendar year. We will not carry credits over into the following year. Credits may only be used for other PCA Potomac DE events. They can't be used for other clubs who also use motorsportreg.com.
