Instructor Registration for Tire Rack Street Survival school at Watkins Glen International
Note: This is for instructors only. Student registration is handled directly on the TRSS website: http://streetsurvival.org/school-schedule-registration/
A one-day course designed to teach teen drivers effective car control techniques in a safe environment. Students accompanied by an instructor drive their own cars (including everything, from 911's to pickups and family vans) in a variety of exercises, including emergency braking and lane change, figure-8, slalom, and a low-speed autocross-like course linking all the skills together. Students get to explore the limits of their vehicles and themselves, and come away from the experience as more confident and skilled drivers.
Breakfast, lunch, and a Street Survival instructor shirt are provided.
The following drivers are eligible to instruct at a GVC Tire Rack Street Survival Event:
- GVC Driving School instructors: You are an active GVC instructor who has instructed at a GVC driving school in the last 5 years.
- Previous TRSS instructors: You have instructed at a TRSS or other teen driving skills event before, but are not a driving school instructor.
- Advanced (A) Driving School students: You are an experienced driving school student who may be thinking about becoming a driving school instructor, and would like to get a feel for instructing beforehand. Or you are experienced and just want to help out.
- Experienced Autocrossers: You have participated regularly in autocross events, and would like to help train young drivers to be safer on the road.
Helmets are NOT required, nor are they used, at Street Survival events.
