About this event

GVC Autocross
For the first time in many years we will have an autocross at Avon Kart Track. Avon is a go-kart track that features turns with varying amounts of banking and curbing. It provides a more interactive experience than the typical autocross in a parking lot. We still use cones to keep cars on course but not very many since the rule is that if two wheels go off the pavement then the car is “off course” and the run doesn’t count. Drop four wheels off and we may ask you to go home.
A special rule for Avon will be that all cars need to be street muffled. This location is completely surrounded by residential areas and we would like to be able to come back next year. Sound measurement will be by the completely unscientific opinion of the event organizers and is final. If you have doubts about your cars sound level at full throttle you might want to make adjustments before attending.

Car Numbers
Car numbers from MotorsportReg.com will be honored whenever possible. Numbers can be applied with shoe polish or painters tape (usually available at the registration desk) if you don't have vinyl or magnetic numbers.
Car Tech Review
A technical review will be performed on each car. We use a "roving tech" system, so cars will be checked in the paddock area. Items that are checked during tech include:
- All loose objects removed from car interior and trunk, including driver floor mat
- Rapid Throttle return
- Battery secure
- Firm Brake Pedal
- No play in Wheel bearings
- Adequate tire tread (no cord showing)
- Helmet within one generation of current Snell rating. Must have hologram with SA or M 2005 or newer. Loaner helmets are available to drivers that don't have a Snell-certified helmet.
Event requirements
- Participants must have a valid driver's licence.
- If you bring your own helmet, it must have a Snell hologram inside the lining with SA or M certification dated 2000 or newer.
- All participants and spectators must sign the GVC waiver on site.
