Have you ever wondered what a PCA Club race might be like in a mixed marque format? Do you miss the Pro-Am forum that Grand-AM & Continental Challenge used
to offer prior to the merger with ALMS and conversion to IMSA? Would you enjoy the opportunity to co-drive a race with your coach or friend? Have you missed the opportunity to race your former pro series car with other similarly prepared cars?
Well - we have.
Frankly - we miss it and are sick and tired of not having a place to run our retired pro cars. We're also sick and tired of having to choose between the fun of running a car like that in a weekend or parting with tens of thousands of dollars from our hard fought savings account. Most importantly though, we have ZERO interest in standing around for 3 days in the paddock for 2.5hrs of track time.
That's why we created American Challenge Race Series. Simply put - it's by racers, for racers. It's designed to let you run your car or cars with other similarly minded drivers in a format that gives you at least three races in a weekend or six if you enter both run groups.
Event requirements
The series is aimed at licensed racers and their current or retired FIA GT class cars (GT3, GT4, GS, ST, TC, TA, Cup, Challenge, Trofeo, etc). Show us your accredited license and you'll be whisked thru registration. Your car needs to have professional race provenance or pre-approval by our series director Joe Foster prior to registering. Driving coaches are welcomed and all you'll need to do is register your coach as co-entrant.
The final decision you'll be faced with is just how many races you want to enter. If you are bringing your Ferrari or Lamborghini - we have a race group dedicated to you. The Ferrari race group will run two thirty minute sprint races and a ninety minute enduro with a mandatory two minute pit stop. You are also eligible to enter your car in the GT race group allowing you to run FOUR sprints and TWO enduros in a single weekend.
If you entering a car that is other than a Ferrari or Lamborghini, you'll be in the GT race group. The GT race group will run two thirty minute sprint races and a ninety minute enduro with a mandatory two minute pit stop. You do not need to worry about race classes as we'll be creating the classes based on average lap times in practice & qualifying.
