Summer is upon us, which happily means our FunRun to Mammoth Lakes and the Eastern Sierra is coming up on Fri, Sat, Sun, June 19-20-21. This is an over-nighter [Fri & Sat] to the fabulously scenic back side of Yosemite. Judged “Drive of the Year”, this is such a popular outing that 2015 marks its 6th year! Our GGR group will leave from East Bay by 7 o’clock Fri. morning and 4 hrs. later we’ll be at Crane Flat Gas Station, just beyond the entry to Yosemite Park. Then it’s up hiway 120 to a lake side picnic spot before going over Tioga Pass to Lee Vining, arriving at Mammoth Village in mid-afternoon. Look at the web site schedule to see what happens once we get there. And scroll to the bottom of the website for a map of the Scenic Loop tour in the high country. The Drive on Saturday is a not-to-be-missed thrill, so here’s your chance to get out of town for a long weekend to see some new territory, have fun really driving your Porsche, and hanging with new Porsche friends.
Cars from other California and Arizona PCA Regions will be converging on Mammoth Lakes; we won’t be alone! We plan to caravan with Diablo Region cars for the Friday portion; we’ll soon provide more logistical details to GGR members who register on MotorsportsReg.

This Drive is 4 weeks away, and time is of the essence to make lodging reservations and to obtain discounted room rates. The Westin Monache < www.westin.com/mammoth > has a cut-off date of May 25. Or until all rooms (deluxe studio suite) are booked. Reservations can be made by calling 1 (760) 934-0454 sales office and referencing Mammoth High Altitude Tour.
