Frohe Weihnachten at Hofbrauhaus on Saturday, December 7th
In the spirit of the homeland of our beloved marque, we’ll take one last road tour for 2019 for a little taste of Germany as we make our way over the roads of St. Clair County to the Hofbrauhaus. Join us on Saturday, December 7th. We’ll gather the South County Home Depot parking lot at the intersections of South Lindbergh and Lemay Ferry Road. After a 1 pm driver’s meeting in the parking lot just west of Hooter’s, we’ll head out for a drive through St. Clair County headed to the Hofbrauhaus for a sampling of a little ‘Frohe Weihnachten’ - Merry Christmas - German style in this replica of the historic Munich bierhall. The menu features hearty, Bavarian fare with German holiday additions thrown in for a little extra ‘gemutlichkeit’. And of course, you can have your choice of Hofbrauhaus’ German biers.
After dinner, you can return home on your own, OR...drive just across Illinois Highway 15 for a drive through the Shrine of Our Lady of the Snows “Way of Lights’ Christmas light display. This is the 50th Anniversary of the Metro - East’s largest holiday light display, the “Way of Lights” - a 1.5 mile light display telling the Christmas story in lights and music. There are choir performances, a Christmas tree room and wreath display, petting zoo, children’s Christmas Cove and gift shop.
Admission to drive through the light show is FREE...donations kindly accepted.
