Join the Shenandoah and Blue Ridge regions of the Porsche Club of America for an action-packed weekend full of options. We’ll start the Fall Foliage Tour in Crozet at the Mountainside Grille and then take a scenic drive to Lynchburg for lunch at Charley’s Restaurant, where we’ll meet up with our friends from Blue Ridge. Afterward, those who have signed up for the North Carolina trip will caravan down to Durham, and those who haven’t will return home on their own.
People who don’t want to take part in the Fall Foliage Tour can meet us in Lynchburg or Durham or Raleigh, NC for the parts of the event in which they wish to participate.
Upon arrival in Durham, participants who choose to stay at our host hotel the Residence Inn Raleigh-Durham Airport can check in and freshen up. In the evening we’ll head over to the Ingram Collection in Durham where we’ll have drinks (cash bar) and heavy hors d’oeuvres (plenty for a meal) and a tour of the Ingrams’ collection of over 30 rare Porsches. As a special bonus, famous Porsche racer and rallyist Vic Elford will join us.
On Sunday morning our overnight guests at the Residence Inn can partake of a complimentary full hot breakfast and then go to the North Carolina Museum of Art (NCMA) for a group tour of the Porsche By Design: Seducing Speed exhibit. Afterward we will have a group lunch at the museum which will be followed by Vic Elford’s talk “The First Year of the Porsche 911 in Competition” in the NCMA auditorium. Vic will be available afterward to answer questions and sign autographs. You can opt to stay another night and explore the Raleigh-Durham area or just head home after a weekend of Porsche fun.
We hope that you can join us for this once in a lifetime experience!
Financial sponsorship by Mark Cooke's Euroclassics Porsche of Midlothian, VA, the Shenandoah Region PCA, the Blue Ridge Region PCA, and the Porsche Club of America have made this event possible and are much appreciated.
