This year’s Fall Foliage event is in honor of longtime member Harold Wilson; who many years planned and hosted this annual event. This year you’ll be able to enjoy the fall color without worrying about following a set of instructions or traffic because…This year we’re going to Take a Ride on the Railroad!
On October 20, 2018 we’ll ride the historic Blue Ridge Railroad along the Toccoa River to McCaysville, GA and Copper Hill, TN. Start out with a scenic morning car trip to beautiful Blue Ridge, GA. You should plan to arrive at the depot by 9:00 am; the train departs promptly at 10:00 a.m.
There is no better way to see the leaves changing than on the Blue Ridge Scenic Railway! Join us for a 26-mile round trip winding along the beautiful Toccoa River in a vintage climate-controlled rail car. The relaxing ride starts at the historic depot in downtown Blue Ridge, GA; then stops for a two-hour layover in the quaint sister towns of McCaysville, GA and Copper Hill, TN. During our layover, you’ll have time to explore the quint shops in both towns and enjoy lunch in either.

Tickets are $49.11 with tax. The club will subsidize $10.00 for the first 42 people who sign up, $49.11 after the first 42 attendees; which is regular group pricing. We’ve reserved 42 seats on the train, in the closed carriages. We can reserve additional seats if necessary. Cars are assigned, but seating is not. The website suggests getting there an hour before the 10:00 AM departure.
Sign up early! Please note registration for this event closes on October 4th as we have to confirm our group numbers on October 6th. After that date, we will not be able to accept any late registrations for our group. Register early so you don’t miss this trip. If you wish to come up on Friday or make a weekend out of it there is plenty of lodging available in nearby Blairsville or Ellijay which are approximately 15 miles from Blue Ridge.
