but no one wants "ear-bleeding loud" cars or events. Nothing good can come from it.

NEW 2018 For Novice class (Solo Only)
Starting in 2018, ETRSCCA will base novice results on raw time. This change was made in order to simplify the competition for beginners as part of an effort to focus on fun. Additionally, being that novices are brand new to autocross and usually do not have fully-prepared cars for their class, PAX does not apply to novice competitors as equally as it might to a PRO class.
- Novice class will compete based on raw time plus cone penalties (+2 seconds per disturbed cone).
- Novices will compete against other novices in different car classes.
- Novices will run with their base class.
- The winner will be the novice driver with lowest time for the day, regardless of car class.
- If you win Novice class 2 times you will be moved to Open Class. Otherwise, you may compete as a Novice for 5 events or 1 year (12 months), whichever comes first.
- A Novice competitor may choose to move into Open Class competition at any time, but may not move back to Novice.
