Novices
Why attend a novice school?
High intensity, learn to autocross with lots of seat time with very low student to instructor ratio
Who should take the school?
Anyone looking to learn how to autocross, or improve their car control skills in a safe environment.
SCCA Solo (autocross) is challenging, even for someone with well-developed car control skills. This one-day school accelerates the learning process by maximizing seat time on several of the individual elements often seen at a typical autocross event including slaloms, lane changes, sweeping turns, full acceleration, and threshold breaking.
The actual execution of skills training will you push the limits of you and your car under the watchful eye of some of the best autocrossers in the area, you can ride along with them to see first-hand how it's done, or have them use your vehicle to show you what it can do.
This Driving School is designed for both the First Timer to "get your feet wet" or someone who has a few events under their belt looking to take it to the next level. As a new autocrosser, you'll learn how to prepare to walk the course and drive the course. One of our seasoned National level instructors will ride with you and help you navigate the course with great precision and get you started on your car control needs. This is your opportunity to see what it's like to be part of the ETRSCCA Solo community.
Once having experienced a Driving school you should be on your way to becoming a faster driver with much better control. Once introductions and car technical inspection is completed, we jump right into the driving for the day. With different drills to improve your car control and course element technique, you'll notice quick improvements throughout the day. Once the day has ended, you can then return the next day Sunday October 4th and apply what you learned onto a large (approx 60 sec) full course solo points event to see how it all applies while it's still fresh in your mind, making you a faster and better driver.
