About this event
Dinner at 6:00 pm
We are going to try a drive and dine event for the spring. The dining will take place at Yoder’s restaurant in Abbeville, SC on Saturday May 5th at 6:00 o’clock in the evening. Yoder’s is Pennsylvania Dutch home cooking served buffet style for $10.95. So that we have a good headcount please use Motorsport.reg to sign up. Sign up before April 27 so they can plan appropriately for the group. MotorsportReg will open Friday 4/6.
Since it’s a Saturday there are a couple of interesting things to enhance the drive down the backroads of South Carolina.
Abbeville itself has an historic downtown square with a few older buildings and shops to visit.
Another place to visit is about a half hour from Yoder’s in Ninety Six. The national historic site at Ninety Six is a revolutionary war battle that tells a fantastic story about the siege that takes place a Star Fort. I visited this site 30 years ago shortly after moving to the Columbia area and have been fascinated with it ever since. You should plan on spending about an hour and a half to complete the walking tour.
These are a couple of suggestions, but South Carolina is rich in historic places. Once you’ve chosen your route for the trip you may find other places to check out as well
