Ice-X (Ice-Rally)
What is Ice-X?
Ice-X is a form of automotive ice racing, but instead of racing wheel to wheel, it’s a race against the clock for the quickest time. Ice-Rally takes place on a frozen lake, with cones outlining a “Road Course” style circuit. Any 4-wheel car, truck, or van is eligible to compete. SXS, ATV's, motorcycles, and snowmobiles are not allowed to compete. There are several classes based on chassis setup (AWD, FWD, & RWD) and tire type (All-Season, Snow, & Studded Tire). Ice-Rally is the best “bang for your buck” netting you the most seat time for your dollar. It will teach you to drive at the limits of traction which will increase driver’s skills. All that is needed to compete is a car, a DOT helmet, and the entry fee.
Spec Studded Tire Class Info: Maximum stud size: 1.25" long - 5/16" dia bolts Maximum quantity per tire: Tire Width x 0.75 (ex. 225 tire multiplied by 0.75 = 169 studs/tire)
Note: Tractionized winter tires are prohibited from the winter tire class and must run in the Unlimited class
Registration is open online until 10:00 PM on the night before the event! YOU MUST REGISTER ONLINE - there are no on-site registrations taken! Event is limited to 25 registered drivers. If event is full do not show up the day of the event and expect to get in!
Check-In at the truck starts at 10am - EVERYONE MUST CHECK IN (registration and check-in are two separate processes). You must check in BEFORE 10:30am or you will be charged a $10 late fee.
We will aim for the following times.....
Check-In: 10:00am - 10:30am - THIS IS A SHORTER WINDOW THAN NORMAL!
Drivers Meeting: 10:45am - IF YOU MISS THE DRIVER'S MEETING, YOU DO NOT COMPETE.
Open Track/Practice Begins: 11am - 2pm - Line up to take as many runs as you want.
Timed Runs: 2:30pm - Each competitor will get TWO timed runs...one in each direction! So make it count!
If you miss the Drivers Meeting, you may not be able to compete.
Event End time is approximate. The event will be over once all competitors have completed their runs.
Event requirements
- Competitors must be at least 16 years of age
- Competitors must posses a valid drivers license
- DOT Helmet required
- Competition vehicle must have functioning seat belts
