CSCC 2020 Game / Gimmick Rally

Evergreen Parkway

About this event

And now for something entirely different. Cascade Sports Car Club's August 22 road rally is a combination time-speed-distance (TSD) road rally and a game / gimmick rally.

The game / gimmick parts reward road rally navigational skills. The TSD parts reward precision driving and accurate time keeping.

The first car starts the rally at 10:01 a.m. from the Regal Evergreen Parkway Theater in Tanasbourne and finishes about four hours later at the Cruise In Country Diner in Hillsboro. The route travels through scenic Washington County along some of our favorite road rally roads.

Entry requires a street-legal vehicle, licensed and insured driver, navigator, and a smart device (e.g., cell phone or tablet) running the Competitor Richta GPS Checkpoints app.

Entry fee: $20 per car for CSCC members, $30 per car for non-members.

Schedule:
  10:01 a.m. - First car out
    2'ish p.m. - First car finishes

Due to the pandemic, online registration is required. Day-of-event on-site registration will not be available. This is Cascade’s sixth TSsD (Time Speed social Distance) road rally and will be conducted in compliance with current social distancing orders. “You stay in your car; we’ll stay in ours.”

Those who register by the August 19 deadline will receive an email on Thursday, providing further instructions to complete the pre-rally check-in. Once you’ve completed check-in, we’ll email the route instructions. You’ll need to print them.

On Saturday morning, show up at the start location a few minutes before your out time, wave at other teams queued up ready to rally. Leave by your out time.

Follow the route instructions to the end.

Results will be emailed soon after all teams have completed the course. Winners can claim their candy bar prizes at a future event or by arrangement.

Event requirements

The August 22 rally is open to everyone. Ralliers who have some experience running trick-and-trap-style rallies and those who understand main road route following will have an advantage in the game / gimmick parts. No matter your road rally experience level, we predict all starters will finish the event.

The driver must have a valid driver’s license and carry minimum insurance coverage(s) as required in the state where the vehicle is registered.

Each entry team must have a smart device (e.g., cell phone or tablet) running the most current version of the Competitor Richta GPS Checkpoints app. Instructions for downloading and using the Richta app will be provided Thursday before the rally as part of check-in.

All occupants of the vehicle registered for this event - driver, navigator, passengers - must e-sign the required event insurance waiver. The link to e-sign the waiver will be provided Thursday before the rally as part of check-in.

A parent or legal guardian must sign a parental consent and release form for participants under the age of 18. Contact rally@cascadesportscarclub.org if you need a parental release form.
