Chicago Region SCCA PDX 2016 #3

Autobahn Country Club

About this event

This Performance Driving Experience is sponsored by Underground Autosports,  Discount Tire, Blackdog Speed Shop and  Hot Rod Chassis and Cycle.

What is a Performance Driving Experience (PDX) track day?

An SCCA Performance Driving Experience track day offers you a chance to drive your car on a real race track. It’s an opportunity to explore the capabilities of your car at greater-than-highway speeds and get practice and instruction in car control and handling. PDXs are noncompetitive, so there is no pressure to perform beyond your comfort level.

Participants are separated by experience and ability into three or four groups, from novice to advanced, with safety as the goal. If you are a novice, you’ll have the guidance of a highly experienced driver riding with you in the car. Of course, FUN is the real reason for participating, and we will do all we can to make your track day one that will keep you smiling for a long time.

Schedule & Requirements

At this event, we’ll drive the Autobahn Country Club North Course in Joliet, Ill. The tentative schedule is:

Registration and technical inspection - 2:30 p.m. to 4 p.m.
Mandatory drivers' meeting - 4 p.m.
On-track activities commence - 5 p.m.
Sessions end - 8 p.m.

Fee is $145 for full SCCA members. Nonmembers must purchase a weekend membership.

You don’t need a sports or performance car to participate, just a car (no trucks or SUVs) with a factory hard top or approved roll-over protection, a valid driver’s license, and a helmet (loaner helmets are available). You must be at least 16 years old to register.

If you bring people along, be sure to remind them to ask about “Instructor Ride Along” opportunities available to them for a small fee while they are on site.

For more information, please refer to the PDX page, including Track Flags and Tech Sheet, on the SCCA Chicago Region website.
