Charlottesville/Piedmont Region Tour, August 16-18, 2019
Welcome to the 2019 Charlottesville-Piedmont Region Tour! Charlottesville and the Piedmont Region are home to UVA, Monticello, Montpelier, fantastic shopping, great restaurants, outstanding wineries, and some of the best roads in Virginia. We have planned a diverse set of activities including historic tours, scenic drives, wine tasting, fine dining, and quaint towns. We will stay at the foot of the Blue Ridge Mountains for two nights at the Boars Head Resort - the only AAA Four Diamond resort in Charlottesville. Enjoy a warm and intimate ambiance with southern hospitality, a luxury spa, scenic hikes, outdoor pools, multiple restaurants, and bars. The Boars Head Resort combines the classic with the contemporary, the refined with the casual, and the tranquil with the dynamic.

We will meet Friday 8/16 in Haymarket, VA at 9:30 am sharp. We will provide the rally point location to you following registration.
After a short discussion of logistics, we will head out as group on our first scenic drive. Our first stop will be a delicious lunch in Orange, VA at Forked on Main - see here www.forkedonmain.com Then after a short 10 minute ride, we will arrive at Montpelier – home of our 4th President – James Madison. We will be guided through a one-hour tour that takes us through James Madison’s personal and professional life. You will learn how he lived and entertained with his wife Dolley, how he came to be known as the "Father of the Constitution," his role in creating the Bill of Rights, and his worst regret - Slavery.

After the tour, we will head to the Boars Head Resort to check-in and relax for a few hours before our 7PM dinner at the wonderful Ivy Inn, www.ivyinnrestaurant.com We have arranged a private three-course dinner on their outdoor, covered patio. The menu features a sampling of appetizers, choice of main course (e.g. crab cakes, halibut, beef tenderloin, chicken, and Ravioli) and a desert selection.
On Saturday, we will leave at 10 am and tour the beautiful country roads on the Piedmont Region, through the back roads of Albemarle and Nelson counties up to the 2800’ summit of Wintergreen Resort www.wintergreenresort.com for lunch and sightseeing. Along the way we will stop at a local winery, Veritas Vineyards www.veritasvineyards.com and then along the Blue Ridge Parkway. For Saturday night dinner, you are on your own. We recommendation C&O, Vivace, Sedona Taphouse, or dine at the hotel. Please call ahead to make reservations.
Sunday is a free day and you can leave at your leisure. Visit UVA, Monticello (Thomas Jefferson’s home), the downtown mall, and other local wineries, as your own pace.

Registration cost will be $40 per person which covers Montpellier tour, the patio fee for our Friday night dinner, and a commemorative souvenir article of clothing.
Costs for Friday dinner at the Ivy Inn range from approximately $46 to $56 depending on meal selection per person, not including tax and tip.

Event requirements
APPLICATIONS/ACCEPTANCE
- Our events are open to all marques.
- You do not need to be a PCA member to participate, but you must be at least 21 to visit certain venues on this tour.
- Portions of this event have limited capacity to accommodate the venue's facilities, and for the safety of all participants. (late registrations are risky due to capacity). Watch the website for revisions.
- We will notify you of your status by email. You are responsible for updating your profile in the MotorsportReg.com website to include your current contact information.
- We initially list all registrants as “confirmed”, or "wait listed" if the event is filled to capacity. When needed, we will change your status as soon as possible. We will provide formal notification of acceptance into an event by email prior to an event. If you haven’t received any notification, check the MSR website for your status.
- Due to limited capacity of the event venue, walkups are discouraged from attempting to join the event. Special consideration may be given to those who preregister but are wait listed at a future event
- IF YOU CAN'T PARTICIPATE, IT IS YOUR RESPONSIBILITY TO CANCEL.
CANCELLATION
- You must cancel please be courteous and cancel as soon as you can in order to allow others from the wait list to attend.
- Cancelations for hotel accommodations are per the policies of The Boar's Head Resort, please visit https://www.boarsheadresort.com/ for details.
- If you cannot cancel online, you must notify the Registrar by email and receive an ACKNOWLEDGMENT by email to verify that you have canceled.
PAYMENT
- Potomac accepts only credit cards for payment. You are responsible for maintaining VALID CREDIT CARD INFORMATION in your profile.
- Billing problems result in notification by email with limited time to resolve the issue due to the short billing period. If the issue is not resolved, we may cancel you from the event.
- Credit card and billing information uses secure connections and is protected by MotorSportReg.com. You are the only person who has access to your card number. We only see the last four digits for billing purposes.
- Hotel accommodations & payment for services must be made directly through The Boar's Head Resort.
REFUND
- Refunds for hotel accommodations are per the policies of The Boar's Head Resort, please visit https://www.boarsheadresort.com/ for details.
- Contact the D&D Chair to discuss special circumstances. THE D&D CHAIR IS THE ONLY PERSON WHO CAN AUTHORIZE A REFUND OR CREDIT FOR AN EVENT.
- If you are authorized a credit for an event, you must use it before the end of the calendar year. We will not carry credits over into the following year. Credits may only be used for other PCA Potomac events. They can't be used for other clubs who also use motorsportreg.com.
