About this event
As part of the PorscheFest Drivers' Education weekend at Summit Point Raceway on Saturday, July 31, 2021, PCA Potomac will hold our annual LAPS FOR CHARITY event. During the afternoon, at approximately 5:30 p.m., individuals will be able to drive their own cars around the Summit Point track behind a pace car. You'll be able to see the entire track from the best vantage point: the driver's seat, just like the racers!
PCA Potomac appreciates your participation in our Community Service program and we hope you enjoy your opportunity to drive/ride on a professional race track. 100% of your donation will go to Rallye for Vets. See their website (https://rallyeforvets.org/) for more information.
For a minimum $20 donation (per car), participants will get about 15 minutes on the track behind pace cars. Any type of vehicle (car, truck, SUV) is welcome, provided that the driver and each passenger have operational seat belts. No helmets or other safety equipment are required. These are parade laps, so no racing or passing will be allowed.
Your minimum donation will be handled through this online registration form. If you wish to contribute more, bring cash or check to the track. Please arrive at the classrooms in the main paddock of Summit Point Raceway by 4:30 p.m., where we will check that you have completed the SpeedWaiver and have a short meeting. Grid up time starts shortly after the final DE run group is released onto the track, at approximately 5:00 p.m.
A SpeedWavier link will be sent to you in the registration confirmation email and automatically by this system, if you elect to do so.
We have a limit of how many cars we can handle so we need to have a count early as this is open to all club members not just those attending the DE. Individuals who have not registered ahead of time will only be allowed to participate if we are below limit.
YOU MUST ARRIVE BY 4:30 PM - DO NOT ARRIVE LATE, AS WE MUST VERIFY YOUR WAIVER AND HAVE A SHORT INFORMATIONAL SESSION.
For more information, please contact Bryan Sandler at communityservice@pcapotomac.org.
