On June 29 the Nebraska Region will return to the TSD (time-speed-distance) rally days of the seventies and eighties with the Bug Squasher Rally. This is an SCCA Touring Rally which means there are no traps, no convoluted logic, no complicated instructions. The directions are designed to keep you from getting lost. The mileage is given at every course following instruction to further reduce the chances of getting lost. This event is designed to be an introduction for novices to TSD rallying while providing a refresher for more experienced teams.
The rally will begin and end at Clancy’s Pub (777 N. 114th St). Registration is from noon to 12:30. First car off at 1:00. You’ll need a working odometer and an accurate timepiece. The route is about 80 miles long through the countryside southwest of Omaha using both paved and good quality unpaved roads. There are some fun to drive roads (Remember, this is Nebraska. Sometimes the roads just go straight!) and there is some nice scenery for the navigators.
