Join the BMWCCA - Golden Gate Chapter for the 2010 Autocross season.
The event will be at Great America on Saturday, Aug 21st. This is NOT a normal autocross event! This is a 'Test & Tune'. This event is NOT recommended for first timers.
There will be 4 different "test" areas.
1. skid pad (likely 100-150' diameter)
2. figure-8
3. slalom
4. mini-course
The mini-course will be timed and the display will be at the end of the mini-course so you can see your time when you finish. This will allow you to see if the changes you are making (and have tested in the other test areas) are making the car faster or slower.
We will start set up at 8am. Should take an hour. So hopefully we can open up the test areas at 9am. Any help setting up will be appreciated. You may show up at any time during the day. You will need to check in at the trailer, sign the waiver and get an wrist band. Only registered people will be allowed on site.
Like the Car Control Clinics, you will be responsible for picking up any cones you knock over. Please be kind to the other drivers and pick up any cones you knock over. It is bad karma to not pick up your downed cones. If I get reports of people continuously knocking down cones and not picking them up then they will be asked to leave and their event fee will not be refunded. Either karma will get you or I will. :-)
As usual, helmets are required.
You are on your own for lunch at this event.

If you do not receive your membership card prior to an autocross event you are signed up for, you must bring a print-out of your sign-up receipt.
