2015 STAN PARKER CLUB RACE WEEKEND
A BMW PREMIER EVENT
AT WATKINS GLEN INTERNATIONAL SPEEDWAY

There will be a LOTS of track time Friday with a full schedule on Saturday and Sunday for the weekend.

Please join us for the 2015 Genesee Valley BMW Club Stan Parker Memorial Race on Saturday and Sunday. This weekend has been designated a Premier Event!  

We are also hosting a Friday Practice/Test Day on June 12, 2015.  This is almost a full day of track time with a Practice Start Session at the end of the day.

Stan Parker was one of the original BMW Club Racers, a Comp Steward, and one of the founding members of the Genesee Valley BMW Club.

Joel Ajavon was a beloved mebmer of the Genesee Valley BMW Club, and will be missed by all who knew him.

1.  FRIDAY PRACTICE/TEST DAY.   Friday is mandatory for any provisionary driver and/or any racer who has not driven at Watkins Glen International.  Participation will be capped at a maximum of 90 cars. 

There will be LOTS of practice/track time on Friday. A 3:45 P.M. session of practice starts will also be held.

NOTE:  Friday is required for all provisionary drivers and first timers to Watkins Glen International.

 
2.  STAN PARKER RACE WEEKEND.    There will be one practice session, one qualifier, and four sprint races.  A party will be held Saturday evening for all racers in the garage.

Saturday racing will include: one practice session, one qualifying session, Sprint 1 Race (100 points), and the Joel Ajavon Memorial Sprint Race 2 (150 points).

Sunday racing will include: Sprint Race 3 (100 points) and the featured Stan Parker 55 Minute Enduro Race 4 (150 points).

There will be a party on Saturday for all racers and High Performance Drivers in the garage.

COSTS

The cost for the Friday Practice/Test Day is $125.00

The cost for the Saturday and Sunday Stan Parker Premier Event Weekend is $600.00.

Payment must be made through this site.  We will accept checks at the track, but we will not accept cash payments this year.

CAMPING AND ACCOMMODATIONS

Camping

Because of the Club Race, camping is free at the track for this school.  Camping is available at the track beginning Thursday night, June 11, 2015 beginning at 6:00 PM. Electrical hookup (for a small fee) is available by special arrangement with WGI.  The track is locked after 11:00 PM, and there is security on-site.

Many other off-track campsites are available in the area, including Watkins Glen State Park, which has one of the most scenic gorges in the Finger Lakes.

Accommodations

The host hotel is the famous Seneca Lodge (http://www.senecalodge.com/), located at the upper entrance to Watkins Glen State Park off NY 329.  The Lodge is famous for its food and racing heritage.  The bar is notable for its collection of over 60 years of racing memorabliia.  Another favorite place to stay very close to the track is the Falls Motel in nearby Montour Falls.  http://www.thefallsmotel.com.  These places fill quickly, so make reservations early. 

Many other types of lodging can be found in Watkins Glen, from cozy bed-and-breakfasts (http://www.bbonline.com/ny/watkins+glen.html) to the luxurious Watkins Glen Harbor Hotel (http://www.watkinsglenharborhotel.com/).  Camping is available at Watkins Glen State Park (http://nysparks.state.ny.us/parks/142/details.aspx) and at many other private campgrounds.
