Bavarian Cars and Brunch Tour

Tour the Maryland and West Virginia Countryside in your favorite Bayerische Motoren Werke vehicle, with stops at the Gathland State Park and Antietam National Battlefield, before a top notch European Sunday Brunch at the Bavarian Inn, located in Shepherdstown, WV.  We will meet at the new Park & Ride in Urbana, Maryland, off I-270 and Route 80.  The journey will take us through the back roads of Maryland to West Virginia.  We will have a brief stop at the Gathland State Park  and then on to Antietam National Battlefield.  The admission to the battlefield visitor center is $2.00 per person.  A movie is presented at noon or you can take a self-guided tour.  Afterwards, we continue on our driving journey to the Bavarian Inn in Shepherdstown, West Virginia, where a wonderful Sunday Brunch Menu be waiting for us. Dress is business causal - no jeans or sneakers.  Bavarian Inn has graciously given the club a group discount from the normal $32.95 to the BMW Club rate of $28.95.  There are no other menu items, just the brunch.  Everyone will be responsible for paying for their own tab. We will be dining around 1:00 p.m..

Following brunch all drivers are free to visit many of the local sites before calling it a day.  There are many things to do and see locally or extend the visit at the Antietam National Battlefield, Martinsburg Roundhouse Center, Crystal Grottoes Caverns, or some local Wineries (Breaux Vineyards, Big Cork Vineyards, Orchid Cellar Meadery and Winery, Maggie Malick Wine Caves, to name a few), and Breweries (Town Run Brewing Company, Mad Horse Brewpub, Flying Dog Brewery, etc.)

This tour is geared more to the scenic driver and an excellent tour for first timers and seasoned tour drivers to get out with your fellow club members and enjoy the countryside scenery.  If you haven’t done a club tour or haven’t done one in a while, come join us.  If you are interested in joining our Bavarian Cars and Brunch Tour, please register on Motorsportreg.com no later than September 9th.  You do not need to eat at the Bavarian Inn to participate in the drive, however we may not be able to accommodate you at the restaurant if you decide at the last minute that you want to dine with us.  But feel free to join us for the drive; the more the merrier!
