AudiFest 2014

Sonoma

About this event

AudiFest 2014 at Sonoma Raceway

Welcome to the registration for AudiFest 2014.

What is Audifest?

It is simply one of the largest high performance driving events for Audi enthusiasts on the West Coast.  With record attendance each year, we certainly are anticipating another sell out crowd who will enjoy the 12 turns and over 200 feet of elevation change that Sonoma Raceway has to offer.  It's also a chance to get together and celebrate all of the years previous events, recognize our Member of the Year, recognize our instructors who put out an extraordinary effort to help instruct at four events during the year including at least one of our two teen drivers clinics with our 4 Rings program awards.

No matter your skill or confidence level, you will most certainly have fun at this event.    First timers and beginners will spend a few hours on the morning of the first day in a classroom session, followed by car control sessions in where you will develop skills and learn the practical side of vehicle dynamics. The classes and car control sessions are designed to enhance your car control skills by applying them to your car, in a controlled and safe environment.  For you seasoned instructors, intermediate and advanced students (after your first classroom session), you will head out on to the two miles of tarmac awesomeness at Sonoma Raceway Park.

During all on-track driving activities, all levels of students drive their own cars, and are accompanied by Audi Club instructors who sit in the passenger seat and assist the driver as they improve their driving skills. During the car control sessions, first time and beginning students drive their own cars, and are coached by instructors that are observing their progress from outside the car during the exercise.  This process provides each student with the foundational knowledge that they will need in order to get the most out of the event.

Students are aggregated into Run Groups which are established to allow students to be on track with other drivers of similar experience. First timers and beginning students always have an instructor in the car during on track sessions. Novice, intermediate and advanced drivers will be assigned an instructor.  Depending on skill level demonstrated to the instructor during the event, these students may be signed off to solo in the car without an instructor.  To ensure that the club provides each student with a safe and secure environment, passing is allowed only on designated sections of the course, and under controlled circumstances. The race track does not have side streets, stop lights, pedestrians, or any of the other distractions that we must address while driving on public streets.  Because of this, the time you spend on the track provides a great opportunity to safely learn advanced driving techniques and explore the capabilities of both car and driver.

Classroom Sessions

This is a driver's education school and all participants are required to attend interactive classroom sessions designed to teach vehicle dynamics and driving techniques. These sessions will continue throughout the day to help participants understand the fine art of precision driving.

Who is the Audi Club Golden Gate?

Audi Club Golden Gate is a chapter of the Audi Club of North America (ACNA), a 501c(3) non-profit organization with the purpose of educating its members in driver education, driver safety training, and education about the Audi brand. ACGG serves the members in Northern California, NW Nevada, and Hawaii areas, but our events are open to Audi Club members, and we encourage you to bring your friends and family. To support the educational experience, ACGG offers events from new Audi introductions, technical seminars, fun drives, teen driving clinics, social events, tours, and high performance driving events throughout the year. Due to our good standing in the community, ACGG is able to take advantage of relationships with dealerships and well recognized private service centers around the geographic proximity to Northern California due to the fact we are the only Audi club recognized by Audi of North America. As a result, many of our sponsors offer discounts and special promotions available only to our club members.

Special offers from Audi and Audi Club North America

As a member of ACNA, you automatically become a member of ACGG if you live in our service area. Additional (Special) Events

With the success of last years Fun Drive - we've added it back to our Friday itinerary

  • Our invitation is for you to join several of us for a driving tour of the area to see some of the country that surrounds us in Sonoma & Napa County.   Our plan includes leaving the Sheraton Hotel between 10:30 and 11:00 am, at which time we will drive 30-40 minutes north to Calistoga, enjoy a great barbeque lunch, and go about discovering the sights of the local back roads.   We should return in plenty of time to complete Tech Inspection and participate in the meet-and-greet activities preceding the evening's schedule.   There is no set cost to this activity.  Lunch will not be extravagant, and the budget for sightseeing is completely voluntary.  Please sign up to help us be aware of those that want to join in, and then be at the front of the Hotel in time to leave as a group.   Questions?   Please connect with Larry Whitney at:  larry@AudiClubGoldengate.org
