About this event

As Time Goes By

Sunday, June 11, 2017

Description: A Novice School introduction to traditional course rallying presented by the St. Louis Region, SCCA.

Start:

City Hall Parking Lot

208 S. Rapp Ave.

Columbia, IL 62236

Registration: (limited to a dozen teams): Noon–12:45 p.m.

Rally School: 12:45 p.m.–1:15 p.m.

First Car Departs the Start: 1:30 p.m.

Entry Fee: $10.00 (cash or check the day of the event).

Early Registration:  Here at motorsportreg.com beginning May 1, 2017.

What You Need: a driver, a navigator, a car, a clipboard, a calculator, pencils and paper, and curiosity about how traditional road rallies are run and the conventions that apply to them. (Our rally school will focus on route-following using the Main Road Rule, with an informal introduction to basic seat-of-the-pants time-keeping also.)

Other Good Things to Know: We plan to end As Time Goes By at Metter Park, 211 E. Cherry Street in Columbia, Ill., where beginning at 6 p.m. there will be a community concert by the Waterloo German Band. Columbia community organizations will grill bratwurst and hot dogs and also sell soft drinks, water, and beer, with the proceeds from the concert going to support Columbia’s Sister City program. Also, as you might know already, As Time Goes By is the last of three regional road-rally events we have planned for the June 9-11 weekend. On Friday night, June 9, we will offer Tulips by Night I, an easy Monte-Carlo-style road rally; on Saturday night, June 10, it's Tulips by Night II. See information about these two events posted here on motorsportreg.com or at www.stlscca.org.
