Come Enjoy the Art of Racing in the Rain with NW Alfa Romeo Club!
A last-minute cancellation this coming Saturday the 27th has provided us a rare opportunity to deliberately drive our cars in the rain! Come out and use this day as learning and an chance to hone yours skills in a safe environment. If you are racer with ICSCC, SCCA, SOVREN, LuckyDog or Lemons, come join us for some rain testing and practice. There will be a dedicated group for race-prepped cars if registration is high enough (minimum 8). All drivers must be signed off as Advanced or Intermediate by a reputable club/organization, no exceptions. We will offer one group of "lead-follow" for drivers who have never driven on Pacific Raceways (registration dependent). This will be a "parade lap" so drivers can see the entire track and the proper driving line, and will be controlled by professional drivers.
This NWARC driving event will include multiple groups based on driver experience, but if car count is low we may change to an open format (Adv/Inter only). There will be a mandatory driver meeting for all drivers prior to going on track. If you are late or miss the driver meeting you will not be allowed on track until you have a discussion with the Chief Driving Instructor. Driver do not need to be an annual member of NWARC to attend this event (although you are welcome to join http://nwalfaclub.com/club.html), as there is a $10 temporary 1-day "event" membership included in your registration fee that expires at the end of the day.

Registration Cost: $175 per Driver
All drivers must be 18 years or older and present a valid Driver License (No photo copies, No exceptions)
No passengers allowed in any group unless you have retained a driver coach. All driver coaches must be approved by the Chief Driving Instructor.
Driver Check-in begins at 8:00am
Mandatory Driver Meeting at 8:40am before any cars go on track. THIS MEETING IS MANDATORY.
(If you are late or miss this meeting you will NOT be allowed on track until you speak with the Chief Driving Instructor. No exceptions)
There Will Be Three Run Groups:
Group 1 - Race Cars and Advanced (dependent on number of cars)
Group 2 - Advanced and Intermediate Drivers (known MSR profile or verifiable Adv/Int solo driver at Pacific Raceways)
Group 3 - Lead/Follow Parade Laps (This will be slow "parade" laps, instructor in lead and rear cars, with radios)
Each group will have five 20-minute track sessions.
Group 1 on track at 9:00am (10am, 11am, 12pm, 1pm)
Group 2 on track at 9:30am (10:20am, 11:20pm, 12:20pm, 1:20pm)
Group 3 on track at 9:40am
"Lead/Follow" drivers in Group 3 will meet at Noon at the registration tent, between the grandstands and the Proformance Racing School building.
This event will happen if it rains a little, and if it rains a lot!
Event requirements
VEHICLE REQUIREMENTS:
- All mechanical and electrical systems in good working condition; No fluid leaks and no loose parts; Tires and brakes must have decent life/wear remaining
- All body panels must be present and firmly attached, no open holes in floorboards or firewall
- Windshield must not have visible cracks or deep chips
- Convertible vehicles must have factory hardtop, hard-mounted factory rollover hoops, or custom/aftermarket roll bars; Factory "pop-up" hoops are prohibited; Driver helmet must be below top of roll bar
- Safety equipment must be in good working order, 5 and 6-point harnesses are recommended, but factory 3-point are accepted; 4-point "clubman" harness (no sub belt) are discouraged, but not prohibited
- Be sure none of your tires have a plug (hole repair)
- All vehicle types are welcome; Fully prepped race cars are also welcome

DRIVER REQUIREMENTS:
- Must be 18 years or older, with a valid Drivers License (must present original document, no photo copies)
(Anyone under the age of 18 must be accompanied on the track premises by a parent/guardian who can sign liability waivers on the minor's behalf) - Verifiable advanced/intermediate experience with driving Pacific Raceways is required for this event (excluding Lead/Follow group
- Helmets are mandatory - S2000 or newer, with eye protection (no helmets required for Lead/Follow group
- Long sleeve and long pants, with proper driving shoes. No open toed shoes or sandals (No Exceptions)
- Dress in layers and appropriate for rainy January weather in Seattle
- Get a good night sleep the night before... limit drinking of alcohol
- Pack gear, tools, accessories and food/drink into your car the night before
- Fill your gas tank before arriving to the track (preferably the night before)
Because of the track layout, challenging corners, minimal run-off areas Pacific Raceways is a venue typically recommended for experienced drivers. Because we know the weather will be fowl with expected rain all day, the surface of the track will be even more challenging. For these reasons this event is open only to Advanced and Intermediate drivers.
We expect everyone to put SAFETY FIRST at all times, to exercise good judgment and decision-making while driving on track, and to be courteous and cooperative towards fellow drivers throughout the day. Let's have fun!
